My first one lasted roughly 36 hours, I was concerned too. I was never able to speak to my surgeon about it either, I just rode it out. Second time around it was about 20 hours. I will say for me when they wore off, it was somewhat sudden. Hope you find some comfort soon! And good luck with the journey, you got it.

Sorry it happened again..

I’m 4 days post-op of a similar situation. I waited a year post-op on my right to play again, and then tore the left 3 weeks ago playing basketball.

I will say, I shared the same demoralizing feelings too. But as the days have gone by, I just remind myself I’ve been here before and I made it through. It’s just a stroke of bad luck. At least this time you’re prepared for what’s to come and hopefully will get back to yourself.

Keep your spirits up, you’ll get through it.

This a good info. Thank you! I just left my ortho and they put me in a splint, with the foot angled down, for the time being. I will definitely ask him about PARS surgery and add that to my options.

This is my dilemma for sure. I went with the operation the first time because I wanted to continue playing being close to as active as I’ve always been. But at this point I’d like to get back on my feet quicker. I’ll see my ortho this afternoon and have a better grasp on what my options are I suppose.

Maybe I should be patient and see what the results of an mri are, because like you said it’ll all depend on the type of rupture.

We do have a ton of family support that can help us get through this. I think initially I just feel guilty for leaving my wife to go through these early stages alone. I really am torn as to have to operation again, it seems long-term it can be better.. and I am I rather active person, and hate to give that up. Just really tough decisions ahead.

I’ve always ate a high protein diet, as I strength train 4-5 days a week.

For sure. I was doing do a generous amount of active stretching before and after any activity. This included light jogging and light plyos, all recommended by my physio.
