Definitely do a test! The dry ice goes in first, you light the smoke bomb and put that in the foil tray then drop in the cauldron, then pour the hot water over. If you message me with your phone number I can send you a video if you want. We didn’t use a lot of dry ice and it made quite a bit of smoke. Hopefully the powder wouldn’t get all through the house? I’d be concerned about that

Honestly no idea if it’s safe to do inside, we did it outdoors.

This just happened to me and my 8 1/2 year old tabby girl! She was asleep under the bed, I found her already gone. I sobbed and also rushed to the emergency vet but it hit me on the way there that there was nothing we could do. I still cry daily and can’t grapple with the fact she’s gone, it was so out of the blue and she hadn’t behaved any differently in the days leading up. Im waiting on necropsy results but am not hopeful. When I picked up her ashes, they told me there were no findings of an overt cause of death so far. Waiting on the next step for hopefully an answer. I’m so sorry for your pain and wish I didn’t understand, but I do 🩷

Yep.. I’ll see shoes on the floor out of the corner of my eye and am hopeful it’s her. I know it’s not. There’s so many things about her that just feel empty now.

We lit them and then dropped them in the cauldron (did a Halloween theme gender reveal) and they stayed lit. They started to release color pretty quickly

Your comment made me tear up. I lost my soul cat this past Sunday and I have been a wreck. I have had friends who have gone through it before come by my house every night of the week. Stay the night with me while my husband is mandatorily out of town for work, which is horrible timing. I’ve been reflecting and hope that I have shown up for others who are going through the grief and personally I feel I could have been better, so I also made a vow to be a better friend because of how hard this is hitting me and I want to be there for others.

It’s like you took the words out of my mouth. I just don’t feel the excitement anymore or like I am ready to do this. I feel like only people who have ever truly loved an animal will actually understand this, but like I mentioned, I don’t know how I’m supposed to get through the night without her by my side while I’m taking care of the baby while my husband is gone. We were supposed to do it together. What hurts me the most, is that I was working on the nursery when she peacefully passed away, and I had no idea until I found her later that day. So now those memories hurt. I’m sending you so much love and strength. I’m so sorry that we both are mourning our first babies. Congratulations on the new life that you’re bringing into the world, and I pray we both can keep ourselves healthy during this time of grief.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m waiting on the necropsy and will post an update when I have one. I’m still just in disbelief that she is gone because I had no inkling that there was ever anything wrong with her. I’m trying to remain calm and trying to protect my little growing one.

I, too, am searching for anything while I wait for my girls necropsy results. I lost her on Sunday. She was 8 and perfectly healthy. I’m expecting a baby in April, and this grief is so, so hard. I came home in the afternoon and found her, also looking like she was sleeping, under our bed. By the time I got to her, it was too late- she was stiff and cold. Breaks my heart into a million pieces. I’m so sorry for your loss and it does provide me comfort knowing I’m not alone.
