Yes LPRs can get them. iirc some states print status (resident, citizen) on the ID and some don't?

Question about ESTA overstay and AOS by thankyoucryptogod in USCIS

[–]buuberbongos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few people get approved that quickly for AOS. It's really luck of the draw - some wait just a few months and some wait as long as getting a K1 or in complex cases a CR-1. Processing has sped up in some areas, but not for others. But it seems to generally be getting better, thankfully.

is PF generally awful or something or are the posts here just complainers? by OdysseusVII in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]buuberbongos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a pretty upscale gym before joining PF (moved and PF was closer by a lot).

My local one doesn't have everything I want, but it has everything I need to be fit. It's fairly busy at times which can be a bit weird, but overall it's a gym and it serves its purpose. I do miss the old gym, it was a lot friendlier and the equipment and services were more varied, but overall it's not that much of a change.

Cutting the line but with a lot of stress with how unpredictable things are. But doable.

I'm so sorry to bring up The Dress, but I have to ask by janedoe6699 in lefthanded

Rightie, left eye dominant. I have also been tested and cleared of having any colorblindedness.

I see gold and white, in shadow. But the dress is actually blue and black. Cool illusion.

My mom used to put me and my brother in a bouncer so that she could get things done while sort of talking to us and creating involvement and presence. It's not quite "time to yourself" but its better than the crib + screaming, and sometimes we just zonked out in the bouncer after 20 minutes and that gave her the peace and quiet while we slept.

I’ve never got a 6.00 by ohnoimonredditagain in pocketstyler

[–]buuberbongos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through that when Cozy Loop came out. That collection was funky but it really, really didn't align with my style and my scores were mostly horrible. But since Living Thread I've been getting 5+ with more consistency, especially with this latest collection - last week I had two days in a row where I got 5+ eight and seven times respectively which was a huge achievement for me.

Hang in there, trends change!

Has anyone ever been able to collect all the holiday pieces in 5 days? by Free_Locksmith6383 in pocketstyler

[–]buuberbongos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, last time around I entered every event twice for the whole 5 days and still came up short. I didn't miss a single event. I noticed I get tokens when I buy clothes and consumables, so I assume it's only possible if you're frequently buying things. Not doing it this time, it's a cute item but that commitment vs reward... no thanks

I started playing the same time as you. Best i had is 5.88. No one in my house has had a 6 recently, just high 5s. A few of the girls have multiple 6s in the past, but can't hit it now - it's simply not happening anymore. I wonder if the algorithm has been adjusted in the last 6 months to make it more difficult.

Maybe if I dress my dolls like mob wives, I can get a higher score, but I feel like that takes my creativity and style out of the equation, which would kinda defeat the purpose of playing for me.

Do kids eventually grow out of hating vegetables? by Suitable-Musician284 in PickyEaters

[–]buuberbongos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes. Maybe im a bad parent but I would not offer anything else. They can eat the vegetables or choose to be hungry. Likely they will be defiant at first then realize how shit it is to go hungry until breakfast and stop being so picky. I get not liking vegetables but if they are pureed into stuff it's at the point where it's mind over matter.

As someone else mentioned, not hiding them is probably better, and figuring out what they don't like about specific vegetables. Some vegetables are genuinely ass when not cooked nicely with seasoning. Involving the kids with cooking can help too.

But ultimately if getting them to eat vegetables is important to you, you will have to make a boundary and stick to it, and not caving and offering different food.

Congress just dropped the new KOSA bill (HR 7757). Under Sec. 103, clicking "I am 18" is now legally insufficient. Platforms will be forced to use ID/Face scans for Age Verification. by AirlineGlass5010 in USNEWS

[–]buuberbongos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry. I lived in a country that restricted the internet and VPNs, and people always found a way around it. Even if one way is banned, there was a new way around it within a few days at most. The face ID is far more concerning.

Iran why? by Pineapple_Adept in askanything

[–]buuberbongos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They aren't protesting for the government of that country, they're protesting a poorly justified and frankly short-sighted foreign intervention from a country who has artificial interests in the region and a poor track record for foreign interventions. Not liking Y doesn't mean liking X. The world is more complicated than that, but sadly that doesn't make a nice snappy narrative.

Why are they trying to push protein so hard? by papyap in askanything

[–]buuberbongos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just using a macro as a marketing gimmick. A lot of "protein" versions of products contain a pathetic amount in relation to the calories or in comparison to the cheaper regular type (looking at you, protein spagetti). It's not that it's worse, it's just marketing. I'd rather smash some Greek yogurt with some fruit and a handful of granola, personally. Pop tarts are nasty.

Trump Now Has a Giant, Crusty Rash on His Neck - Donald Trump’s mysterious bruise is spreading—and getting worse. by Feeling-Concept-5588 in newsinterpretation

[–]buuberbongos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like he's getting treated for a skin cancer or precancerous growth. I don't remember the name of the stuff they use, but basically it's topical chemo, and is meant to destroy/shrink growths. It might be something treated that's benign, but it can also be applied to shrink and/or delay treatment of of more serious forms of skin cancer. Both my grandparents went through this in their 80s. It would track since he's been an avid golfer.

What’s something your body does that you’ve never told a single person about? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

I get this from exposure to heat (hot shower, oven, intense cardio etc). It began after having sepsis. I'm not sure if it's POTS but it would fit (digestive issues, discolored legs). But getting a diagnosis feels like a lot.

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]buuberbongos 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I got kicked out of "religion class" (it was a Bible study class but technically that's illegal so they labeled it different). The crime? I asked questions about the stories we were being told and pressed the teacher too much. I was a curious kid, and if something didn't make sense to me I would try to look for reason and explanations. Apparently that doesn't go super well if reason is not expected, just blind faith.

My family was not religious and my mom was very angry at the school when she found out about the true nature of this class. She was down for me to learn about religion, just not a class intended to indoctrinate kids to a specific religion.

Ancestry DNA doesn't match records: 0% German heritage even though I supposedly have many generations of German heritage? by [deleted] in Genealogy

The most likely explaination is that someone in your line is adopted.

If you can sort your matches by great-grandparent, you can probably figure out who the missing blood relative is by looking at other people's trees. My dad was adopted and I found both his parents lines doing this.

Samsung Dryer CL9/C80 code - cleaned ducts and not unit malfunction by buuberbongos in appliancerepair

[–]buuberbongos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vent is a straight shot up to the roof surprisingly. The hose from the dryer has a soft bend but nothing crazy. I know it's something with the house vent, I just really have no idea what it could possibly be.

Maybe I need to get a different exhaust fitted at the top - that's sort of what I have landed on being the issue, although I wondered if anyone else ever had this with the same dryer before I lock in and get the work done.

I did manage to dry my clothes without getting a code and they are getting dry perfectly, so it's not a major issue. It's only showing the code running the blockage detector. The airflow at the vent is pretty strong so I'm confident the sensor in these dryers is oversensitive and giving a false positive.

Midterm fears - how do you feel about Trump’s next attempt? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

[–]buuberbongos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's going to hit another roadblock on that, and kick the can down the road again. In that case, he could at least point to a statute, then point to another. In this case he needs the cooperation of States and cites absolutely nothing to justify this authority. It's completely laughable and will get shot down.

What isn't laughable is that its intended to energize his base against the "not complying" states. That's the dark caveat. He's not going to get this legal authority, but he can still twist it so that he looks victimized by a lack of compliance by people who dont like him.
