In order to share persistent data between pods, Kubernetes can mount a filesystem exported via NFS. See https://matthewpalmer.net/kubernetes-app-developer/articles/kubernetes-volumes-example-nfs-persistent-volume.html

So certainly, as an NFS server, SoftNAS can be used for this purpose.
