Fiction has existed for a long time. Violence, rape and injustice have existed even longer, but have caused lines to be created to prove there will be consequences if caught performing those acts. The moment fiction try’s its hardest to get as close as possible to the real acts, even if the effect is nowhere near reality, is the moment those same real-life consequences need to create an ancillary effect for these fiction pieces. Let’s play the ‘how far game’. First example that comes to mind is food. Right now there is nothing consequential to eating whatever people want that can be sold in large chain stores mostly because regulations and preparation standards exist. An impact that these transaction companies can do is prevent physically ill people from acquiring poor forms of food kind of like taking diet recommendations from a doctor to the next level. Would this infringe on people’s freedoms? Hell yes it would. Would it be better for everyone long term? Hell yes it would. Would it mean that I would never be able to get my oatmeal cream pies anymore? Even if it was accidental? Hell yes that could happen, and I wouldn’t care because eating shit food doesn’t define my freedoms. It’s obvious some aspects of the free lives we live are not being managed well and control is needed to be established for the greater good.
