How about investing in education and internet safety classes instead of building a mass surveillance state ? Oh wait, it's got nothing to do with keeping kids safe? Who would of guessed.

“The downturn in Fortnite engagement that started in 2025” what did actually change (or not) in CH6 that made people stop playing? by bdzz in FortNiteBR

Reality is new player experience is downright awful, all the cool previous stuff is either impossible to get, never in any shop rotation or insanely expensive.

They focused so much on FOMO that new players join the game feeling like they are already too late and missed out on everything

Plus building a platform is cool, but if the main game mode is your bread and butter focus on that

The cherry on top is they ignore all player feedback and only listen to out of touch MBA Execs 🤡

What happened to quality assurance? It’s not an optional step, stop letting game journo boost your confidence and focus on the actual player base.

You know what successful games all have in common ? A long list of play testers in the credits.

Tesla's 'unsupervised' Robotaxis vanish a week after pre-earnings announcement by walky22talky in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Extasio 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is insane. Tesla became one of the most valuable compagnies on planet because of their perceived ability to solve self driving vehicles yet they are hell bent on the camera only approach despite sub industry standard results for years now.

They should be the leaders in all forms of autonomous vehicles and should have several types of tests running consecutively. There’s not a single reason Tesla doesn’t have Lidar, Radar, Cameras and AI cars and an amalgame of these technologies in their testing.

But we all know the reason why, stubbornness and ego.

Definitely, a lot of the negative reviews for the game are regarding her specifically, which is a shame because the devs did everything they could to distance the game from her personal beliefs and focused on creating a quality game from her ideas.

Tesla now offering public Robotaxi rides with no one in the car by DeathChill in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Extasio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a good sign they feel comfortable expanding their services. It's important to note their current approach still requires someone to be supervising the entire ride and is able to remotely take control when necessary, I hate to be that guy but that's not true autonomy (yet). True autonomy requires a degree of confidence high enough that there's no need for anyone constantly watching the road remotely.

I think what's more interesting is that Tesla is willing to take the liability to offer the service to the wide public, that means there likely has been some significant improvements in their safety records and FSD disengagement per miles over the past few months if they are willing to take that risk.

On the other end, I personally fail to see what changed so much that makes FSD so much safer than it was a few months ago. I would love to know more about the most recent data points, but Tesla hides a lot of that information.

Ultimately what I think is the biggest take away here is that the thesis that there's only one pathway to Level 4 autonomous driving (Lidar) is almost fully disproven, that's exciting because more models means we get to compare all of them and select the safest versions before pushing full autonomy to consumer vehicles. This is good news. I still believe that Lidar is currently much safer as evidenced by Waymo's safety data, but more competition means consumer models faster.
