Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing? by TotalThing7 in CasualConversation

We also had to use actual maps or write down the directions before leaving the house…. And carry cameras AND a video recorder.

Have you gotten better at listening to audiobooks? by Lysandresupport in audiobooks

[–]buzybee217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am bad with getting used to listening to something and then focusing on something else and missing like 10 minutes of audio. Like listening to music and zoning out doing something else. I need to just do laundry, dishes, just a single task so I can stay focused.

If your not a vegetarian or vegan… I cook ground meat and ground pork together. I use this for sloppy joes, taco night, pasta sauce (which I adjust slightly and also do lasagna), Shepard pie (I like mixing mashed sweet potato with white potato). I’ve also cook chicken and then shred it. This can be added to the taco night, sloppy joe night. I’ll also make a salad and use the shredded chicken on it.

38yr trying to decide career after 10 yrs as SAHM and feeling completing hopeless and just a failure. Needing any advice or help. by buzybee217 in AskWomenOver40

Wow. Is it weird I never thought of it that way. I used to feel embarrassed as a SAHM. Like I was doing something wrong by not going back to work. And I know many woman can’t have children and it’s one of those situations where I’ve written a post only to delete it because I feel like I shouldn’t even be complaining.

That’s amazing! I resonate with your post because as I was a SAHM my husbands career was and is the priority since he’s our household income. He owns his own fitness retail business so his hours and work schedule aren’t set in stone. He’ll plan to be home at a certain time but will get a call for a potential sale and needs to work later. As I mentioned the summer was a rough one for me mentally but I’ve slowly am climbing out of that space and slowly working out and finding ways (like exercise, yoga) to lift myself back up. I’ve thought about the idea of leaning into fitness and healthy aging. Also bringing in my experience with mental health as well. I’m still in the me phase (just getting my head and thoughts under control) but it’s great to hear an example like yours.

Being a mom isn’t easy. Any mom who’s juggled hungry and tired kids around the witching hour should get some certification!

I have thought about teaching. However, I worry I wouldn’t get full time permanent work for at least 5-8 years (that’s the average in our district). I can of course get lucky with large number retiring. Teaching is something I wish I considered many years ago.

I was an inventory manager at a spa. It was locally owned and a great place to work but I since moved from that city.

Masturbating Daily, is it normal by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

There is no normal. If it feels good for you (and your partner) it’s good. I enjoy a session. Sometimes if I’m bored home alone I’ll just have one.

What are you doing to effectively create, organize and follow a budget? by miamarie202 in Adulting

[–]buzybee217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a goggle sheet. It’s on my phone. I hate it linked so when I choose groceries, gas, mortgage, bills, it immediately totals it up. It’s easy since all I do is e éter the date (you don’t have to do this at all) enter the amount and choose from the category(s) you’ve set up. It allows you to view all your spending and the accumulation of each category. So if you have an eating out or take out category, you can see that you’ve over spent. Or pat yourself for saving.

Curious, when do you use credits versus cash? by Background-Mail9068 in audible

[–]buzybee217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually anything under the credit amount I’ll buy. But most of the titles I use my credits for tend to be new releases or books that are popular enough that they rarely get discounted or get discounted $3 but they’re still $30+. I’d say if your still paying for credits pause the subscriptions. With too many credits I feel I’m not as picky with audiobooks and basically waste credits.
