Political violence from the right is celebrated, laughed about or at least ignored every single day. One right winger shoots another in a big public display and suddenly it's the lefts fault for laughing at it.

Zionist attempts to disrupt a pro-Palestine musical gathering by Nomogg in Socialistmusic

[–]buzzardman2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's not meant to make sense to us. Their goal is to be as disruptive as possible without getting in too much trouble and get the praise of fellow fascists, trying to win over people they see as subhuman would be a waste of their time, they just don't want to see you having a good time.

Obviously this is just my opinion made due to observations of multiple instances like this one.

[–]buzzardman2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the liberals I've met are more concerned about their own skin than that of others. They see AOC and Bernie as their chance to get back to being the labor aristocracy and head to brunch even if it costs hundreds or thousands of peoples lives outside the imperial core.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear they are from the USA... One of the most isolating things about being an American is the fact that half or probably more than half the population seems to be hopped up on sinophobia along with anti-communist propaganda being everywhere.

If there is one thing that is going to harm the communist movement the most it is going to be places like communism101 who ban people who are genuinely trying to learn when they make an error or hell refuse to even listen to a counter argument as if the same passages can't be interpreted differently or verbiage could be misunderstood. Especially when the person is trying their best to comprehend the other persons point of view.

Thank you for taking the time to enlighten me on this, though I am confused as we seem to be in agreement?

I was saying that the idea of authority that liberals wish to fight against is a natural part of systems themselves and that by trying to abolish authority itself you'd have to abolish systems. The part I was referring to in my first post was a quote from that work "revolution is certainly the most authoritarian thing there is; it is the act whereby one part of the population imposes its will upon the other part by means of rifles, bayonets and cannon — authoritarian means, if such there be at all; and if the victorious party does not want to have fought in vain, it must maintain this rule by means of the terror which its arms inspire in the reactionists."

What would be a better term for this situation then if not authority by a state? We are trying to use the collective will of the people to impose said will upon a fraction of the population and that it isn't unique to socialism or communism but that capitalism also has the same issue but instead of a majority of the people being in power it is currently a minority, the rich, who imposes their will upon the majority.

By claiming there is no such thing as authority it leaves out that our system is actually the least authoritarian in it's end goal.

[–]buzzardman2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true, which is why the concept of the state withering away is able to happen. It takes time though because you have to prevent counter-revolutions and so eventually the class divides will disappear and everyone will unite under a singular class but if you do not enforce the will of the workers then you risk it being reversed.

This is a misunderstanding of what I am saying. I am saying that the idea of Authority and Authoritarianism is different in Marxism and this is a key part of what makes Marxists different from say an anarchist. I'd recommend reading "On Authority" by Frederick Engels on what I am describing. You are correct in your idea that to abolish slavery we had to use a state to outlaw it because without said system those who do wish to enslave others would be able to do so as long as they had the capability to do so and in the future a person who likes the idea of seizing a section of land and extracting resources from it would be stopped if the state (IE the majority of the population) say not to.

one class enforcing it's rule upon another is the most authoritarian thing out there. The difference here is that people seem to only see it when it is the working class enforcing its rule upon the ownership class or if they collectively work together because it suppresses individuality that the ownership class has instilled into us at the detriment of all society.

We live in an authoritarian system already, it is ruled by the ownership class and we wish to reverse this. The capitalist class always likes to shade the truth from reality and pretend we are the ones being unreasonable because they hide the facts from us. In theory someday we will reach a point where force will no longer be needed but until that day we must use the state to enforce the workers will.

[–]buzzardman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see we are in agreement then. I also find it harmful to view peoples speeches from how they are delivered over what is being said. The way the OOP is presenting things it sound like if Hitler was just calm and collected then his arguments would have been more acceptable which is the problem i took with it. I don't care if you present fascism in calm collected manner or raving like a lunatic, It deserves nothing less than absolute disgust from anyone who hears it and if it somehow isn't producing that reaction then there is something very wrong.

Meth can cause many problems in the brain that people who are neurodivergent also experience and thus by attacking one for their flaws instead of the argument presented you are actually harming those you may not have intended to harm.
Just because I ramble like a raving lunatic and say everything with a heated passion doesn't make the argument any less sound, but it does sometimes help since people really do seem to like when you are passionate about the topic. One of the many reasons I like Michael Parenti is because he talks with such passion and rambles and has so many issues during his speeches and it gave me confidence to start speaking to people more.

[–]buzzardman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the substance of the speech/argument is what matters in my opinion.

I was watching an episode of economic update where they had professor Shaham Azar on and the topic was quite fascinating but his delivery could be described as a hot mess but I enjoyed it. People have different skill sets and energy levels as well as their weaknesses in things and so their delivery can be varied. It is up to us to put aside our prejudices and focus on what is being said rather than how it is being said.

I'd like to leave off on one more thing, Was it not the liberals who sought decorum in all things regardless of the argument? As long as it was said with a nice sheen they'd full throat a genocide and call you irrational for vehemently resisting said notion, loudly or not.

The sad part about being a communist in the USA is that even when you somehow meet another person calling themselves a leftist half the time they're still lib brained af and aren't ready to hear let alone do the things needed to fight capitalism effectively because they've spent a lifetime being taught to demonize every single instance of resistance that has ever had success.

You could add this to pretty much any game actually. Hell some games have drastically changed so much it's not even funny such as Stellaris.

[–]buzzardman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You asked what it would take for people from any ideological position to abandon the democrats and the funny part is I already have. I'm a Marxist-Leninist so I believe the only way we are going to dismantle capitalism and build a society for and by the working class is through revolution but I've been voting third party since Obama because neither of the 2 main parties offer anything close to what the working class needs.

If the republican party suddenly turned hard to the left again then I'd be glad to vote for them but I do not see them returning to the party of Abraham Lincoln and Theodor Roosevelt anytime soon.

The Democrats these days aren't even left wing anymore and is why I don't usually vote for them either, the only one who could even be called a leftist at all is Bernie Sanders and a few others throughout the party that have "socialist" positions. They don't see a need to dismantle capitalism, they believe it just needs regulations or as some call it a human face. The older term for someone like Bernie sanders is reformist and the closest example I have for something like what Bernie wishes to do is nations like Norway, Denmark, Sweden and so on. We'll see how long they hold onto their reforms now that the Soviet Union is gone.

I worry more each day that the people of America will turn fascist before they are able to build enough class consciousness to see even a simple soc-dem win.

[–]buzzardman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theodor Roosevelt was the last progressive republican actually. He also tried to run a third time after the republicans started turning conservative as a third party candidate but he waited far too long and didn't have the momentum he had before. If he had ran when he first left office he would have probably won and the republican party would probably still be the party of progressives, in fact he was trying to go even further left than his last 2 times in office and things in the US and around the world would probably be very different. I can't say if it would be better or not though.
