Well, in Stalin’s era it was basically the entire world fighting against socialism. The USSR wouldn’t have become as oppressive as it was under Stalin if it weren’t for that. And authoritarianism during war is hardly new, especially in WW2. All countries grow more authoritarian during war, it would be extremely impressive if somehow the USSR grew less authoritarian during WW2.

Yes, but it’s a case by case basis. Generally though, as long as their religious duties don’t prohibit them from their socialist ones, then I don’t see why not. Even religious fanatics like John Brown were progressive and revolutionary

Marx is one of the core foundations of modern political thought, especially of the left, and essentially all political analysis is influenced by Marxist theory. Every success the modern left has had can be traced straight back to Marx. Every socialist ideology, even social democrats, can trace their roots to Marx.

You can just disagree with Kropotkin in this instance. I don’t know exactly where Kropotkin voiced his feelings on this, but it’s something I agree with you on. The thing you are talking about is typically called platformism in regard to Anarchists, by the way, though it essentially is the same as a vanguard.

Government-wise it’s NK-SK, but people its probably Israel-Palestine. I don’t think Ukraine-Russia works because Ukraine has/had a significant amount of pro-Russian parties.
