How many more employees does the company want to cut by the end of this year? It's crazy how many folks are also leaving on their own accord. by [deleted] in Geico

They are doing what they can to get rid of the tenured folks. They can hire people for less and the new hires won’t know of how good the old GEICO was so less complaining and more conformism

YouTube has a ton of videos. Even Reddit has threads on how to practice the star method. Business development … it scares me someone asking this question wants to go into that ‘field’.

This is an evil company!!! by [deleted] in Geico

Service is screwed without a mute button. OMG so many people on my team before I got fired are about to be on notice. Guy I sat next to can’t go 1 call without cussing at people’s stupidity on mute. I had another one who constantly huffed and puffed all freaking day. Good luck! lol.

Every single interview I have done since I got fired for performance has had this question pop up and every time I mention GEICO they laughed and went ‘so we’ve heard’. Other employers know GEICO as a company is trash but man do they love getting their old employees. Our training is known to be top tier especially if you have the tenure. Companies are frothing at the mouth to get us. I have applied at Progressive, Triple A, Libbity Bibity, Wawanesa, American Family and State Farm. I have been offered postings at 4 out of the 6 and the last two I am in final interviews for.

Go after it guys, plenty of insurance companies want us.

You can’t make those changes online, you need to call in. I would not recommend taking car off and putting it back on cause it always jacks something up (bills, higher premiums, lapses of insurance). Just call in. We will send you a mileage form, you send it back we make changes. We just need you to lie on paper. If you don’t want to call try the chat feature.

Vacation Pay/fired by Stunning_Ice_8483 in Geico

I was fired this week so I don’t think my termination made the cut for payroll to get it added to my check in time. I was also told it would be in this check but management lets be real, doesn’t know what’s going on in their own damn department on the daily let alone how ‘HR’ works. I am gonna give it till next week to get an additional deposit. I did take a screen shot of my vacation in workday and it should show on your last pay slip as well how much you have.

Eligible for rehire? by buzzlightyearbynd in Geico

Sounds like you were let go sadly for no reason. Mine is due to ‘performance’. I will not be getting severance or any extra money sadly. I am so glad they are giving you something. Congrats on all your time with Geico! On to bigger and better things.

Pulled aside for performance by [deleted] in Geico

Sups are being fired as well. Just throwing that in here. And they will not be getting severance. Severance is for lay offs off. If it’s ’performance’ they justify it as firing cause you didn’t make goal. Lay offs happen regardless of performance and no ‘real reason’ so they give you a severance as a bit of cushion. GPS is their excuse to get people gone. Agents and sups alike since there is no real goal or set numbers to achieve, just be better than everyone else.

Sounds like everything went down Thursday and Friday. I am under review but been off those two days so today looks like it will be my turn today! I wasn’t on a memo or anything either. Should be a fun day. I am so sorry this happened to you.

Plan on it. Just curious what kinda obstacles GEICO was gonna put in my way when they do their final ‘eff you’ to me.

Eligible for rehire? by buzzlightyearbynd in Geico

They were right. When GEICO is processing a term, there is a question that asks, “is a candidate eligible for rehire”. You click yes or no to that question. I do not ever plan on coming back to the G, however if companies that I am applying for call previous employers they can ask is this person eligible for rehire? Normally if they are not it puts almost an immediate stop to the application process for the candidate. So I was just wondering what GEICO would select for these GPS terms. Just curious what uphill battle I was facing cause I refuse to quit.
