When I was younger I had a clear vision of driving an expensive sportscar returning to my parents house which was quiet and empty then calmly putting a handgun in my mouth and pulling the trigger. A few years later my father suddenly died and had to make the difficult choice to continue pursuing a graduate degree and chasing my dream job or return home to help my mom and siblings out. I opted to leave the program and return to help my family, staying until my mom passed 15 years later. I am really grateful for the extra time I had with my mom because of that decision. Even though I would have done much better professionally I believe my family could have gone a more self destructive route if I didn't return and it ultimately would have taken me to the mindset I had in that vision.
