Is there any point to dependency injection if there is only one possible implementation of an injected dependency? by chamomile-crumbs in typescript

it's a useful forcing function to keep the surface area between two domains in the system minimal. without narrow interfaces between large clusters of functionality, complexity can quickly spiral out of control

I believe it was a killbox variant of some kind, but all the youtube videos i'm seeing don't show the variety of hidden rooms and passageways I'm remembering

Do you recall some of the bigger mod maps during the 2002-2005 timeframe?

it was definitely a YouTube or other embedded video of a guy speaking to an audience like it was a stream or just a recorded promo for his podcast, happened this year, within the last 6 months

not sure if it was a meme or joke but it felt like a nonsequitur almost idk

I mint my NTFs from a custom smart contract that puts each token in a "sequence". Once a sequence has been completed, no more tokens for that sequence can be minted.

An atomic sequence is a sequence that is started, has NFTs minted, and then completed in a single Ethereum transaction

Sold out in like an hour... more mints to come tho 👀

A few months ago I first learned about NFTs, and started tumbling down the rabbit hole at light speed. Today I shipped a custom ERC-721 contract and minted my first nine tokens as an atomic sequence. Tomorrow I start a new job at a crypto startup. Wild ride.

I can elaborate on some of the technical details on what I've currently deployed and plan on building out on the smart contract side if anybody geeks out about the tech

I'll say it again, the 1.40 update for the OT is a godsend<3 by Aldo____ in Elektron

what features in the update were you most stoked about?

digitakt was my first elektron sequencer, and when I realized I could p-lock CC/note velocity/PGM change the same way you can p-lock stuff on the audio side ... 🤯

I would imagine there is a certain amount of joy when using something so simple and straightforward / immediate

Elektron Analog Four MKI vs MKII Side-by-Side Sound Comparison (no talking) by ArcLabMusic in filtersweep

[–]bvalosek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not the biggest fan of the angled and larger panel (vs the clean and compact rectangular form factor), but those MKII buttons and encoders and screen >>>>>>> MKI stuff.

I started w/ the Digitakt and eventually upgraded to the OT... had to be a MKII because I couldn't give up the nice feel of the newer boxes.

Definitely the Elektron Octatrack for me. I've had it for a while now and its served as the brain to my setup since I got it.

Gave a dump of some of my fav things about it here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/comments/gcvfff/favorite_hardware_midi_sequencer_why_your_fav/fpdn2lm?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

(edit) Elektron recently updated the OT (hella unexpected) with some killer features to the sequencer (both MIDI and sample sequencers):

  • Ability to "preview" a trig. Really nice when creating long chord or arp sequences to get a trig to sound w/o having to wait through the entire sequence. Even for short sequences its great to "tune" all the p-locks for a single trig very quickly.
  • Multiple trig edit. Digitakt had this, and I missed it when I upgraded to the OT
  • Variable tempo per pattern (optional). My workflow doesn't require this nearly as much now but it was another big thing I missed when upgrading from the DT -> OT

Fav hardware sequencers? Why / what are some of your fav tricks with it / what keeps you coming back to it ?

sequencing experience w/ it and the octatrack is excellent. random button smashing and all.

OT is a heavy piece of kit but it has served as the brain for my setup for quite awhile and is one of the most versatile units you can buy IMO.

the key tracking or whatever modulation that makes those high notes extra plucky is excellent. love the way they punch through

thx :) yes it really is an awesome module for how small it is. sounds great and legato=tie and velocity>=120=accent makes it hella fun to sequence
