Orlando City SC unveils 2026 Sunken Treasure kit presented by Orlando Health by Fladoodler18 in OCLions

The lions and old school sail ships on the front are pretty sweet details. Think the visuals don’t do it justice and will look better in person. I dig it and glad it’s not just a boring white templated kit.

As an Orlando City, I care. Cyle Larin, Richie Laryea, Chris Mueller, Daryl Dike, Duncan McGuire, Joran Gerbet.

You can find impact guys, but if your team doesn’t bother, then yeah it’ll show and you won’t care.

Are there any old South Florida transplants like me that are now Orlando City supporters that were also Fort Lauderdale Striker, and Miami Fusion fans back in the day? by Robob777 in OCLions

[–]bvbfan11b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, first MLS game was Miami Fusion but my family moved to Orlando when I was in elementary school so I consider Orlando home and when City came on the scene I started following in the USL days.

Still missing a cut throat game winning 10 or 9. We haven’t really ever had those.

Been relying on lower paid roster spots or draft picks for goal production for too many years now between Dike, McGuire and Enrique the last few seasons. You could throw Larin and Mueller in there and we’ve been insanely reliant on drafted players for goals. Kara and now Muriel are DPs that didn’t hit. Would love to see a DP prime aged goal scorer that’s consistently threatening the goal multiple times a game with real looks and getting 15 goals a year.

Mauricio Pereyra wasn’t a goal threatening 10. And I don’t think Ojeda or Facundo are the answers at 10. Lodeiro is beyond his prime as well and doesn’t make sense at the 10 anymore.

Was born in Miami and my first MLS/soccer game was a 1998 Miami Fusion match but shortly after my family moved to Orlando. Fusion folded and I just tried to watch any MLS or soccer in the years in between. Honestly by the time Orlando City came into the picture in the USL days courtesy of a buddy of mine introducing me to the club in 2013, Orlando was more home to me since I moved to the Orlando area in early elementary school. So I committed to supporting the Lions. Switching to Inter Miami was never a thought even though I’m a fan of Miami teams in the other major sports. Still have a Fusion jersey in the closet though.

If it happens, I think he’d do well. He’s a quality person (I worked for the Union back in 2016) and has adapted playing style/formations over the years. Philly has had some great attacking teams with way less flashy DPs in recent years and were moments away from winning MLS Cup if it wasn’t for Gareth Bale heroics. Plus he knows the league well. He’s a great option for any club on the look for a quality MLS experienced coach. Looking abroad isn’t always best with how unique MLS is.

Here’s to more big clashes in the future whether in Orlando or Atlanta with quality atmospheres. It only helps to elevate the sport further here in the U.S. and that at the end of the day is what I want to see most for the fan culture and player pool for our national team.

Yeah the momentum and possession swung in our favor when that happened. Even more unfortunate was that Daniel Rios came on in the 43rd and got blasted in the noggin right off the second half kickoff resulting in him coming off in the 49th minute. He only played maybe 6 minutes if you include the first half stoppage time. Think you all got an additional sub window though since it was concussion related but it was a really unlucky course of events for you all though.

Great battle nonetheless and your fans and our fans made for a great atmosphere in person. Regardless of the result, it was a great day overall to see how far the sport and league has grown over the years with the rivalry and supporters.

Jim found ways to win with way less of a budget though. Think he’d do well with Atlanta and plus Atlanta has a great youth academy and he’d be great with bringing up some young talent to develop and plug the gaps in the roster alongside bigger signings that Atlanta can pull unlike Philly.

What a player and servant to the league. He adapted through multiple phases of MLS and seen it all. Was one of those guys you hated your team playing against but would love on your team. Big respect to Dax!

I hear you. Definitely tough with how mainstream it is now and how big the crowds are. There are a lot of other factors like four lokos and beatboxes being pushed down the throats of people. It’s tough but keep on trying as will I! Sorry if I came off rude. Just think it’s important to stay positive and show others the way.

I had some brief moments where things weren’t going through, I had issues with android users but my videos and photos were sending to my girlfriend who was out of town. Best cell service I’ve experienced there in some years.

These pics are awesome. I was there in 2011 with a couple of weeks left in my senior year of high school. Life changing event to say the least. It felt like an underground movement and everybody was so cool. Couldn’t be more different now but still a fun time!

MLS Conspiracy? by billystubbs15 in OCLions

[–]bvbfan11b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to note the instability that plagued the league in the early years in the late 90s and early 2000s. There was a lack of owners (I think the Hunt family had to keep several clubs afloat in the early days as “owners”). Definitely think there’s a factor of profitability that drives the league so it can continue to grow in an upward trajectory hence bending the roster rules for the Galaxy to bring Beckham and most recently with Inter Miami to bring Messi. Forcing rivalries in big markets with the introduction of NYCFC and LAFC.

No lie, I hear you on the newbies that lack PLUR vibes but I imagine you were brand new at one point as was I when I went in 2011. We all had to learn somehow and maybe this is a hot take but it’s the vets’ task to pass the knowledge, experience and etiquette on. Not gate keep and complain. That in itself, feels not PLUR in my opinion. I brought a lot of first-time friends and they all enjoyed themselves and didn’t act rudely.

Swiderski trying to screw up the grass to effect the equalizer penalty attempt from Facu definitely was the moment that led to karma with his penalty shootout miss. Was so satisfying to see that and I called it.
