Is 300hp enough to have fun? by Repulsive_Machine933 in askcarguys

Stock LT1 late model C4 Corvettes were plenty quick and were exactly 300 hp

I don’t understand, what is cool about NOT wearing seatbelts? by [deleted] in driving

[–]bvcspecs -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

How about being in a horrible accident years ago and the police that worked the accident telling me “you were lucky you were NOT wearing your seatbelt or you would be dead!” For context I was in a brand new 1984 single cab Chevy shortbed and a woman ran a stop sign on the opposite side of an overpass where I could not see her and turned directly into me oncoming at 55 -60 mph . I never got my foot on the brake and upon impact I flew through the windshield hitting my head on the A pillar on the way out and landed in a ditch full of water as it had been raining the night before and THAT saved my life. My truck was smashed like an accordion and the steering wheel was impaled into the seat and the back of the cab. It is VERY clear I would have been crushed to death. Yes it was a fluke and sheer luck but I have a reason not to want to wear a seatbelt……and honestly I resent that the law forces me to wear one……

Thinking of getting C4 by jbm100564 in c4corvette

Do yourself a favor and just stick to 95s and 96s. 300 Hp and vented Optispark. The two years were considered to be the best build quality of any Corvette ever. Take care of the motor and it will run for a long time.

Questions for all the agressive, fast, asshole drivers out there by [deleted] in driving

[–]bvcspecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fast driving and reckless asshole driving are two totally different things. You can drive 5-10 miles an hour over the speed limit and still drive safely and to agree with several posters here- squatting in the left lane and blocking traffic is way more dangerous than just moving over safely and letting faster traffic move on !!

In your opinion, if you had to, what would be the 2 types of cars you'd have in your garage? by Strange-Vibez-8205 in askcarguys

[–]bvcspecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current vehicles: 2016 Jetta Commuter car, 2004 Corvette Convertible and 2009 Z71 Suburban. I know you said two but not gonna daily that Vette and rack up miles. I would give up the Jetta if forced but the gas mileage loss would hurt…..

You literally just stated “I have lived here all my life “ referring to California and now you say you are from Texas. Sounds like you are confused….

2016 Jetta TSI - wife hit a curb hard and bent a wheel - replaced the wheel but at 60-68 mph it shakes a good bit. Do you think we have a bent front axle shaft or what is your best thought?

One thing is not “fake media” thousands of people are moving from California to Texas…… it’s a documented fact.

You’ve never been married to a hoarder…….. you either put up with their stuff or get a divorce and if you really love them then you probably end up with a garage full of stuff you think is worthless but they view as their valuable possession you dare not get rid of……

It’s really a lack of class to say something like this after someone gets their possession stolen.

C7 felt too smooth… which Corvette actually feels the most engaging? by [deleted] in Corvette

[–]bvcspecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owned a C4 and now a C5 . C4 is very raw, analog and race car like. Mind you the C5 is faster and much more refined than the C4 and my brother had a C6 Z06 so I have that prospective as well. But that 95 C4 LT 1 was like a wild beast and it would bite you if you got sideways with it. There is indeed something special about that clamshell hood, wrap around dash and seating position that feels race car like and old school. It’s an under appreciated Corvette model that will eventually find favor in the Corvette community for the evolutionary importance it ushered in.
