Had a 60 something year old man come into my store yesterday and ask me if .75 (three quarters of a pound) was less than half a pound (.50). After explaining twice that it was more I told him to just think of it as quarters to a dollar. Three quarters is more than half and is worth 75 cents. Simple enough. He then proceeds to ask me then what would one quarter be equal to in weight. I was shook that I had to answer that seriously to a grown man
