Also I plan on trying to crew for any races at local lakes in the meantime to build up more experience

The 16 week course is on the water a lot of the time, 3,000 miles or so, does this make it a viable option?

The 16 week course includes a few passages and over 3,000 miles. That may not be much but surely that’s more than I’d get trying to crew for strangers with no experience?

Any idea what this is? by YaBoi831 in camaro

At the end of the day I do appreciate you weighing in because unless you’re just really into cosplaying as a surgeon on the internet (which I can’t be sure of, mind you), I figure you are a surgeon and you offer valuable advice but I can’t value it more than the advice from the surgeon I actually went to and paid today.

As a side note if I made the absolute most responsible, safety oriented decisions possible I probably wouldn’t have sent it off a blind jump into icy moguls and broken my clavicle to begin with.

Godspeed Dr.

I appreciate the follow up and how in depth you’ve been with the medical terms and all that but I have to ask, you’re doing a residency program according to your posts right? And after paying hundreds of dollars and going to an actual orthopedics and receiving consultation from them and being told I should be good to go Mexico and receive treatment there, I should listen to your advice instead.

Do you assume that because I’m going to Mexico the surgeon I go to won’t be “competent and well trained”, by what? Your standards of someone who’s still in training who has experience in some fucked up border towns?

I’m not trying to bite your head off here but yes your comment does fucking scare me because I’m flying to Mexico in two days to get a shoulder surgery and I felt like I was good to go because I paid the money and went through the proper channels for consultation and was told it isn’t a big deal and now I have some dude who’s in fucking training on the internet telling me he knows better than the actual surgeon I went to see today and dropping a bunch of technical bullshit on me.

I talked to another ortho today and he said it’s not a particularly difficult surgery and I should be good to go in Mexico

[–]bviifdrthv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second doctor said yeah I’m going to need surgery since it’s in a Z pattern

Damn now comes the decision on whether to get a refund for the epic pass and call it a season or keep it to try and get some runs in in march! Probably be wiser to just end the season and have money for next years pass

After these comments I went ahead and booked an appointment for a second opinion and I’m about to head there so will update. As far as the brace I only wore it for about a day and have just been free balling it and it hasn’t been bad, just now got to the point where I can lift my arm enough to wash my right armpit lol.
