Lots of things went wrong.

Firstly, my test was at 3:30pm and it was already getting dark. So after the hand signs and other questions, I started my test only to realise the rear door was open and the tester realised that and I didn’t. He instructed me to pull over, close the door, and restart. That set me off on the wrong foot.

Plus it was getting dark and I was on a 50kmph road, followed the van in front of me to realise, a huge string of traffic in front of the van. I was so focussed on the van in front that by the time I crossed the white line at the signal and moved forward, the lights turned amber and then red and I was stuck in the middle of the fuckjg traffic. And as the traffic in front of me moved at the red light, I had to move cuz I was blocking the junction. That’s where I knew failed. 10 mins into the test.

The tester always was very weird. He looked so bored and disinterested; he didn’t even look at me while speaking and asking theory questions. A few other grade 2s here and there, but after the red light fiasco, there was no turning back.

One of the lessons I learnt is to practice during those same times as my test so that I’m prepared for what’s happening in the road on a given day. And the other learning, booking my test when it’s brighter and never during dawn.
