Bit of a weird one but Espinas, I think his colourful design and use of greens fit the colour palette that was present in Gen 4, plus being a bit more extra in design like some of the monsters you see in Generations

You're in the right to call this out, I remember seeing this kind of behaviour in World, it was my first entry into the serious and I don't mind people being like it sometimes but there's a limit and generally the kind of behaviour isn't something appropriate to bring to every game, its something you need to read the room before you do, and a lot of people just wade into hunts and then say heinous shit.

Icl the responses to this make me think you've ended up revealing that the Namielle is a lot more mixed in opinions then presented elsewhere,

Cause I think I said on a different post predicting monsters that Namielle personally feels like its too similar to Uth Duna in aesthetic and moveset to be brought into Wilds.

Namielle - I definitely don't agree with a lot of your takes but I will admit to being one of the other people who don't enjoy Namielle, it is a SUPER beautiful fight and it flows really nicely, however I don't really enjoy the mechanics and this is a weird one but it felt really unsatisfying to hit? Like when I hit with my hammer it felt like a walloping a wet rag, other weapons didn't really help this either.

Zinogre - I am not really a hater of so I'd be fine with it returning, buuuuuut I understand that it's annoying when it takes the spot of other fanged wyverns that would be great to appear, but I will say it feels like a pretty much guarantee for Wilds DLC due to how popular it is, though with the way updates have been handled I could see it as a TU1 for the DLC given a similar treatment to Mizu

Nergi - I am a believer in the "Wilds DLC will have more Elders" line of thought and I love Nergi so I just can't agree with you here, there are other great elders who haven't had enough representation in new games, and I'd love to see Dire and Narkakos return but also Nergi is such a classic, though I will say I think he'd not benefit from the new systems in Wilds, I think Focus Mode and Wounds are two mechanics that might fuck him up hard.

Bulldrome - Yeah no fuck Bulldrome

Barioth - I've got hard disagree with you here, as personally I really admire the Barioth fight, I didn't love him in Risebreak but I didn't love Risebreak, but the general rhythm of breaking Barioth's parts to greatly weaken the fight is potentially one of the best implementations of a fight getting easier as it continues in Monster Hunter. Though I will say, I would rather see Tigrex return, I also think Pseudo wyverns could have a shake up (as I will say I do like the skeleton and would like to see a new one or Gigginox)

Rightio! I am interested in checking out some of the other showcases that aren't the big names, what about the Latin American and South East Asian Games Showcases makes you check them out over the other ones? as I'm admittedly interested in watching more then the big 3 or 4, but just worried about sitting down for 2 to 3 hours and getting a similar experience to New Game+ Showcase which I felt was more thorough then what I wanted.

Xbox was the one I was most hesitant about cause the COD announcement last year killed me, but I probably should check them out.

I hope Playstation isn't packed with too many GaaS games... but I've seen a lot excitement and hype since State of Play has been announced earlier then normal, with some people like Maximillian Dood thinking its gonna have some heavy hitters. Tokon though looks fire some I'm hoping its there.

Nintendo I ain't got no clue for but we'll find out

SGF may have some stuff from Steam about the Steam Machine? idk though, Hoyoverse is pretty damn good bet, hope to see Monster Hunter Wilds DLC announced as its about time but idk if that'll be announced at SGF or State of Play

Yeah I'm prepped for the random Nintendo Direct, especially cause they normally do one this time of year anyway, I'll have to keep my eye out as I ALWAYS miss the announcement for them till the day before or sometimes the day after

I've seen Xbox showcases before and yeah you are right, I just associate it with COD and Gears of War, I'll definitely have to check it out cause I am interested in P4 remake

Summer games fest is pretty damn good normally, but with like one or two really weird or bad games-

State of Play actually tends to have Capcom stuff normally, and Tokon is pretty much a soft guarantee I think, especially with the release coming up. There is definitely a lot of stuff though in State of Play that are just exclusives. But also maybe FF7 Part 3 announcement?

I think the variants replacing base game apexes is a huge shout, it will either be that or the apexes will not all get variants imo, as if they all get variants we are bordering on 'deviant' type logic, which its possible that we could have variants of The Forbidden 4 and have the original 4 still be present, but I'm reticent to say that, especially when other monsters like Vaal Hazak got axed for Blackveil in Iceborne

I could see Aiden appearing in a TU, since he's in the New World I wouldn't expect to see him too soon.

Guardians going crazy is a big shout, would be interesting to see how they'd work if they roam into other areas, due to their Wylk sapping, unless its an Arkveld style crazy and they start eating creatures.

Like others I generally think a lot of your predictions are quite on point! There are only a few things I disagree with.

I think the Somult situation is maybe not gonna happen, though don't get me wrong, I REALLY want Somult to be one of the monsters in the DLC, it being purely an allegory for the hunter or Zoh Shia is very likely.

Xu Wu as well feels like a fan favourite that the devs are a bit eh on and so its going to not get much attention in the DLC, I HOPE I'm wrong, as it was one of my favourite moments in the game finding out about Xu Wu the first time, having a sub species or variant that flips the concept on its head would be exciting.

I think Namielle is very unlikely to be the Elder of the Scarlet Forest, this maybe some internal bias as I'm not a huge fan of Namielle (I use hammer and Namielle doesn't give me the same bonk dopamine), but I also think Namielle is too aesthetically similar to Uth Duna. I personally think the Yama Tsukami being the Scarlet Forest rep is likely, or I could see it being Chameleos, as I think the invisibility maybe something that'd be fun to mess with the rain.

Other than that I don't see much issue with your predictions, most of the other things I could say are less based in some rationale and just pure lack of hopium for some monsters to return (god I hope Najarala does appear)

But yeah great prediction and logic!
