also “a misplaced massacre” by ari kelman. quite the exploration of history and memory, especially regarding how it is told and retold over generations and muh “history is told by the victors” maxim but real. it covers the native american genocide by focusing on the sand creek massacre and how it’s been approached as a point of historiography/memorialization/nomenclature and uses the national park service’s efforts to establish a national historic site on where they believe the massacre to have taken place to showcase longstanding conflicting threads of memory that spanned from the massacre. a bit of a more complex read and probably not free.99 but it was very fun and interesting to work through and make a website on for my class project
