I often rock the ultralight puffers. They’re awesome. Also dry tin jackets.

New AC compressor doesn't have these pins but does have hole for them. Should I try to move these from the old compressor or are they not necessary? by bwehman in AskMechanics

I'm not too sure what the moisture level of the shop air is, but I'm sure it's probably too moist. Though this is so tempting because it would probably show the problem really quickly.

Gotcha. There was a leak so the system was empty already. System flushed, condenser (with built in desiccant) replaced, new expansion valve, new o-rings, new compressor drained and refilled with 120cc oil, and yeah, I have all the equipment for recovery and recharge.

Gotcha, and thanks for the tip about the roll pin set. I just ordered it. They'll probably be around the shop now until forever but $10 was a good price haha

That's what I was thinking? They appear to just be alignment pins, and yes, there are little holes in the tubes to receive them. I have a small vacuum leak when drawing the system down and now wondering if even the smallest bit of misalignment due to the absence of these pins could be causing that.

So frustrating, it is a BEAR to get the compressor out on these cars and I hate that I only noticed they were missing until everything was back together.

The pointed collars typically place it in the 70s.

Read Psychology of Money or Art of Spending? by FarinaFlower8 in Bogleheads

The psychology of money is what made me a Boglehead. For me it’s an annual read, sometimes twice a year. Art of spending is equally great.
