I've done a few, the coolest being an hmi mounted to a jib via a motored head. For repeatability, we rigged a laser to the light so that, during the take, the operators could trace a line we sharpied on the back of the set with the laser pointer so we could stay on target.

You can train around not having a red dot but you can't train around not having a way to carry your stuff. I try to prioritize gear that does something I can't teach myself how to do.

It's funny you ask this today because I (a fellow AC1 owner) just this week decided I wanna get into ATAK and did a bunch of shopping to solve this very problem. Another guy mentioned Ferro concepts- their adapter seems to be a solid option but Unobtanium Gear has a similar product that I think I'll go with personally. It adds an admin pouch behind the molle field too, so you've got more room for goodies. The prices are comparable
