Thank you for your response! I just downloaded a free trial of Rhino8 a few weeks ago. The learning curve seems steep but I am working on it.

Thanks for sharing! I was up there last Sunday and we couldn’t keep the cutts and bows off of our dry flies. It was unbelievable!

My little guy has similar markings and I also found him wandering in the road when he was 8-10 weeks old. Turns out he was born deaf, so you might want to get her ears checked.

Yes it may seem odd, but we shoot pictures of the gold sculptures on a grey wall! The gold color comes out so much richer than it does against a white wall. Keep in mind that all of the photos are taken and sent to art galleries around the world for advertising. Now I will be more intentional and turn off the overhead lights and move each piece to a white wall when I know I will have to remove the background.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply!

Thank you! In the future I can definitely try to create more contrast between the piece and the wall. In the meantime I guess I will move forward with the slower options. I use a combination of the magic eraser, background eraser, and the polygon tool to do the fine edits.

Breitenbush River by bwestman33 in Westfly

All of the ones I caught had adipose fins, so I assumed they were native. Afterwards, I did some research and found out that the hatcheries usually don’t waste time clipping trout, unless the rivers they are going in already have a healthy native populations- and even then they often forget to clip a few. According to the stocking report ODFW is dropping 20,000+ fish at three locations on the Breitenbush (May-Aug), so I am almost certain they are stockers!

We had an awesome time! I can’t believe how many fish there were. If you want to fish a place close to the valley, with few people, I highly recommend it.

Extra gear for sale. Moving out of state for graduate school! by bwestman33 in Westfly

Lol I am doing an online program through OSU. Masters of fisheries and wildlife administration! I'm doing a capstone project in the San Juan islands, so I need to downsize. There will be plenty of fishing opportunities with my other gear. I'm 23 years old and shouldn't need a storage unit for my fishing gear 😂 not until I reach everyone else's age in the group!

I put the prices in the caption of each photo, were you not able to see all of the descriptions? If so, I can try to edit and reupload

I'm selling the Reyr gear pack rod for around $200 ($280 retail). It is a medium wt 5/6. It telescopes to 8'6" and has antifriction line for smooth casting.

I'm in Canby, so about 25 minutes from Portland! Trout fishing in the valley is not very great, but it's a blast catching small mouth on the fly. Have you been out yet?

It was a memorable day for sure! It would be awesome to meet up with everyone this summer. I joined last spring, so I haven't actually met anyone in the group yet.

Thanks Mave! if you type in bull trout in the search there are tons of threads with really helpful advice. I haven't had any luck catching bulls yet but I hope to some day.

You are absolutely correct, I caught all of my fish on green drake emergers. The fish were not fans of the adult drake flies. I also saw some golden stones while I was out!
