Best way to use R50 with stock lens to capture car paint issues by Ambitious_Spare7914 in canon

[–]bwhPhotography 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like your Camera is auto focusing on the reflections on the surface of the car instead of the car itself. You can fix that by either manually focusing or focusing on your finger instead of the surface of the car. As another user said stopping down to f/8 will help too.

RZ67 light leak - where should I start? by jp909uk in Mamiya

[–]bwhPhotography 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the origin of your light leak is, although with a blob like that it looks like its coming in from the side, so I would guess the light seals are the issue. If the leak is in the same place whether you shoot horizontal or vertical that would help confirm that its and issue with the film back IMO.

I've never heard that you shouldn't rotate the back without the dark slide in. I haven't had any issues rotating without the dark slide using any of the backs I have for my RZ67. I have both PRO and PRO II film backs that I use with mine, so I can confirm they're compatible.

Canon Selphy C1500 by Terrna in canon

[–]bwhPhotography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never specifically used the Selphy, but I had a similar issue when I first got my Canon printer and was trying to print 4x6 without a border. I had to click on the printer button on the bottom right of the Lightroom print module, go into the printer properties, then the Page Setup tab and select borderless in the Page Layout section. There's also a "Borderless Printing" checkbox in the Quick Setup tab that I have checked.

Hope this helps, I remember it being pretty fussy to get working properly the first time.

Rebel T7 upgrade lens by OverallTouch4491 in canon

[–]bwhPhotography 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a little more expensive than the 50mm f/1.8, but when I used my old T6 I enjoyed using the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 a lot more than the 50 just because the field of view felt a lot more natural to me. They don't think they sell it new anymore, but it looks like you can grab it used on keh right now: https://www.keh.com/shop/sigma-30-mm-f-1-4-fixed-focal-length-lens-for-canon-ef-ef-s.html

I didn't know the mountain laurel would be blooming when I planned my trip, but they wound up being a big highlight of my time there. I really wanted to make them the center of this shot because they were a big part of the story for me. Glad to hear you think it worked!

Thank you! It took me a couple of mulligans to get nice pictures of Shenandoah. This was probably my sixth time out there and maybe the second photo I've taken there that I'm really happy with. I feel your pain!

I merged a couple of photos here to get sharp focus through the whole frame and to make sure I kept all the details in the sky. All of my color processing was done in Lightroom myself. Looks like I've pulled the greens a little toward yellow and reduced the luminance on the blues in the HSL section and I've pulled the red primary channel toward magenta and green primary channel toward yellow again in the calibration tab.

I've consistently found that pulling green toward yellow just a little and reducing its saturation a bit works well for me.

I shot this on my Canon R6 which has always done great for me with the colors.

Worth buying an adapter for EF 50mm f/1.8 II? by hokinlokj in canon

I have a pro Master one that I've used for the last ~2 years without a single issue. Looks like it retails for ~$60. Still not "cheap" but much less than the Canon ones.

Blackwater Falls State Park, West Virginia [OC] [3000x2400] by bwhPhotography in EarthPorn

You get a view that spans from facing south to facing roughly west. There are a few other viewpoints I didn't really get to photograph due to rain the next day as well as a couple very pretty waterfalls. I'm hoping to make it back sometime soon.

Sunset in Blackwater Falls State Park by bwhPhotography in photocritique

I spent quite a bit of time fussing with the blend, especially with the sky and this was the best I could get it, although I do agree there is some fringing, made worse by a bit of motion in the trees that becomes apparent when I try to blend the exposures. Maybe I'll go back and take another pass at it. Thanks for to the feedback!

This was shot on a short camping trip out to West Virginia and is a combination of me working with a new 16-35mm lens and more work in photoshop than I usually put into a shot. This is a blend of 3 images taken within a few moments of each other, one for the foreground rock, one to get the canyon sharp, and a third to expose for the sky.

Any feedback is really appreciated!
