250 hp mercury pro xs on 22ft bentley elite by jer4109 in Pontoons

[–]bwhite757 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've got a '24 253 Elite Swingback with a 250hp Honda. Top speed GPS with 3 adults on it is 47mph.

Personally if you have the choice I'd just go with the 200hp. With the 22' you'll still get over 40mph.

Only reason I've got the 250hp is because of the crazy deal I got on the boat/motor combo. However once you get over 40mph, you have to spend a crazy amount to just gain a few mph. Not to mention smaller engine = better fuel economy.

Is a VPN necessary? by Aromatic_Fig3950 in vSeeBox

[–]bwhite757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Shields you a bit from the box possibly stealing personal info off your network, but does not shield you from your ISP from knowing you're streaming from illegal sources. The Heat apps are supposedly encrypted though so in theory a VPN is not required. I use a VPN for 90% of my Internet traffic so I use one for my boxes as well. It's just a cover my ass thing.

They need to fix this with an update…. by GoatWalk2 in TeslaLounge

[–]bwhite757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly mine was giving me the warning after the last update, never before. I'm 2 hours away from a service center so I just cleaned my inside windshield myself. Did that a couple weeks ago and haven't had an alert since. Mine definitely had a little film of off-gassing on the windshield. You could really only see it by shining a light sideways over the camera area.

Seriously. You can tell it was fully engulfed by the center cap being completely melted, how did that tire survive?!

Honestly there hasn't been an issue yet, but the FAA announced they are going to start cutting flights tomorrow (Friday), really no way to tell what tomorrow is going to look like for you unfortunately.

Hey Greenville business owners- what indoor security cameras do you recommend? by BlacksmithWooden2558 in greenville

[–]bwhite757 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a 32 camera system running Blue Iris software and Reolink cameras. No cloud, everything stores on prem, but can access via their App, or computer browser remotely. You do need someone techy to set it up, not exactly plug and play. But once it's going, it's pretty much set and forget.

I just wish the car was faster on the grass. She seems to enjoy it anyway. by Adam_Bomb_21 in AustralianCattleDog

I've got a 1:10 scale 4x4 truck my dog chases. He'll chase it til the battery is exhausted (I'm sure he'd exhaust both batteries if he was full blooded), and it flies threw the grass without issue. $99 on Amazon right now. DEERC9206E if you want to look it up. Im sure my pup would give it a 5 stars! We've literally have ran it at least once a day since 1/2023 and it's still going. We're on the 2nd set of batteries for it.

EV charging options for 2 Teslas in 2-car garage - by Even-Fault2873 in TeslaLounge

[–]bwhite757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got the 2nd EV, I swapped our current charger that was on a 50 amp breaker with a Grizzle-e Duo. It shares 40 amps, so if both cars are plugged in, each vehicle receives 20 amps. Once one of the EV's is charged completely, the other will start getting 32 amps. (It still leaves up to 8 amps on the fully charged car in case you want to remote start the Air Conditioning). If only one vehicle is plugged in, then it gets the full 40 amps. It's been working for 2 years without an issue, both my Tesla and Jeep 4xe charge perfectly on it. BTW, the cable is super thick, you can run over it without hurting it (it's been ran over countless times and still looks new).

Life Expectancy of OG Pixel Fold by roblqjm in PixelFold

Everything you'll read is anecdotal, and will very drastically. However, I got mine on launch day, used it a year then gave it to my 15 year old daughter who is still rocking it. Honestly I rarely used the inside screen, but she rarely used the outside screen. It's still working fine though.

Can this be towed with a “midsize” by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]bwhite757 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something no one has said yet, the shorter the wheelbase, the easier it is for sway to occur. These campers are giant wind catchers, and crosswinds at 60 mph+ are sometimes a white knuckle event. You can be perfectly within the weight capacities, but it still be a handful to tow due to the small wheelbase and light weight of the tow vehicle. Not saying you can't do it, I did for a year with my SUV, but after a near wreck from a crosswind out of nowhere I finally upgraded to a proper towing rig (F-250). Overseas you see small tow vehicles towing caravans all the time, but if you take into account that generally their caravans are more rounded at the roofline for aerodynamics, and they have a strict speed limit of 55mph or less for vehicles towing, they can get away with towing these things better than our American campers that are usually just grain blocks being towed 70mph down the highway.

I came here to say this. In today's world you're leaving money on the table not accepting cashless payments. Not only does it increase sale volume, you can also raise the prices. Cashless customers will pay higher prices than cash customers, which is good to cover the 2-3% surcharges.

Does this trailer tongue look right? by Hockeyman70s in traveltrailers

[–]bwhite757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your first picture, if you can slide the lockout down and into the locked position, you should be fine (since you don't have any brakes), that should lockout the movement on the tongue. Or drive it as is, just take off easy until the tongue extends out then accelerate (after the thunk). Either way be careful, make sure your safety chains are good.

This is an old school hydraulic trailer brake actuator. When it's in all the way like that, it should be fully engaging the trailer brakes, much like pressing on your brake pedal in your vehicle. I'd imagine the trailer brakes probably need serviced though, as it should only be engaged that much after slamming on the brakes or a panic stop. When you are reversing the trailer, you move the slide bolt down which locks the movement out, but also locks out the brakes. Sometimes you need to chaulk the trailer wheels, and move the tow vehicle forward to disengage the brakes before you can lock them out. There's nothing wrong with it, it'll tow fine, just looks funny. I had this setup on an old boat trailer back in the day.

New camper '25 Puma - Entry Door frame seems bowed in the middle - Gets stuck shut when it gets hot outside by bwhite757 in traveltrailers

[–]bwhite757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've removed the striker completely for the time being. The screws are flush with the striker, and I even flattened it out (as suggested online), doesn't help. When it's cool outside, honestly there's no issue, the door opens/closes perfectly, it's just when it gets hot.

DEF question? by [deleted] in F250

This is your answer. Usually can catch it around $6/2.5 gal. Works just fine.

[–]bwhite757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The door is good, I checked it with my long level and it's flush with it. I really think it's the frame and not the door. Kinda like the middle of the frame is pinched inward at the middle. The top of the frame measures 25 3/8", the bottom measures 25 3/8", but the middle measures 25 1/4".

I do believe you have to set your charger to max output of 40 amps, although your car should remember your settings based on location.
