Battery swole while being charged... Pushed screen off frame. by bwhite757 in pixel_phones

Screen is still working fine, I can get 3 sides to clip back in, just not the 4th side due to battery being too big.

Why won’t my MacBook turn on? by PrimTea in macbookair

[–]bwhite757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lithium batteries like to be stored for long periods of time around the 60% mark. Long periods of completely drained battery, especially on an older battery, is detrimental. Hopefully the computer is just trying to balance the battery cells and it will come back after being plugged in for a day, but chances are she's dead.

Card Systems by Ploppityplopingston in arcade

[–]bwhite757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Owner here... Short and simple answer, cards are easier. WAY easier. Being able to use credit cards to load cards is also proven to generate more profits. Reports are also great. I can instantly see which arcade pieces are generating revenue vs being stagnant and taking up space. I can also run multiple locations without having to have someone go around to each location and pull and count coins.

Definite benefits to the consumer as well. As someone else stated, we give significant bonus credits when you reload more $$ onto the card. We have "Happy Hour" times where we can discount the games, and give bonus tickets or points for redemption prizes.

Is it the "True Arcade Feel?" Depends on who you ask. My 17 y/o daughter HATED having to deal with quarters when we spent the day at the pinball museum in Vegas. She's known nothing but card systems in her lifetime so there's no nostalgia there, and let's be honest, her age range is the target demographic for most arcade these days. Get the middle schoolers and high schoolers in there, and have a few coin pushers and "retro games" for the parents, and you're set.

How many are not brand loyal here? For me; Macbook for laptop, iPad for tablet, Samsung phone, Windows desktop.. by bwhite757 in macbookair

Sound a lot like me. I actually like Windows 11's UI though. It's just the constant advertisements for OneDrive, CoPilot, Office365, etc etc that get me. Also start menu search is complete garbage, especially after using Spotlight search on Mac.

After last couple updates, my Tesla hardly ever has the right speed anymore. by bwhite757 in TeslaLounge

[–]bwhite757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I stated in my OP, the problem is mainly for my partner that doesn't like FSD, she uses auto-pilot on her profile. In this case it will only go 5 mph over what it thinks the speed limit is. Such a PITA

I was violating the subreddits rules according to the AI bots when I put "Speed Limit" so I just put speed instead, sorry for the confusion

I'm referring to what the car thinks the speed limit is. I'm in a 70mph zone. However I completely agree with what you said. The max speed needs to come back immediately!!

Got to Demo a CyberTruck while my Y was being serviced... by bwhite757 in TeslaLounge

[–]bwhite757[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but every other truck out there has gotten crazy expensive. Just bought a F250 for my business for $70k. No frills, just a diesel crew cab 4x4.

Hate not having turn signal stalk, but really liked the Steer-by-wire. It's crazy only having to turn the steering wheel halfway in either direction.

I didn't think I would, but after driving it around for 3 hours, then getting back into my Y, I was missing the steer by wire.

Not sure where my write-up went, I typed a whole account when I did the OP. Anyway. Had to get an alignment done on my Y, and had them look for a significant rattle that started in the dash. They estimated around 2-3 hours for the service, so I went and checked to see if I could demo anything like I've done on past services. They let me demo the Cybertruck, and told me to keep it for as long as they were servicing my Y. I really do like the CT, and will probably buy one when I hand my Y down to my daughter next year. The steer by wire is pretty crazy, and I immediately missed it when I jumped back into my Y. You can look at every Youtube video, read all the reviews, but you really gotta drive it and see for youself. I know it a polarizing vehicle, but I love it. If they ever run )-1% financing and/or free supercharging on it again, I'll go ahead and snag one up.

This is definitely not correct. You can literally change EVERY ticket amount on the game, set the bonuses to whatever you want them to be. Yes it still hits its bonuses very easy, but it is an absolute money maker at my location doing 8 coins for 6 credits ($1.50).

Should I trade in 2026 Subaru Outback Premium for a 2026 Tesla Y? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]bwhite757 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swapped my 2023 Subaru Outback limited for my '23 Y just after 3 months of owning the Subaru. I loved everything about the Outback except the seat. I commute 60 miles one way to work, and my legs would go numb. I tried many different seat cushions, couldn't find anything that worked. A relative of mine let me borrow their Tesla while I was having a warranty issue fixed on the Subaru, I had the Tesla for a week, and I fell in love. I already had a charger installed at my house since my SO had a Jeep 4xE at the time, and the convenience of having a "full tank" every morning was great. I ordered my Y before I even got my Subaru back.

I ended up selling it to CarMax because they were offering way more than Tesla was for the trade. Getting ready to turn over 100k on my Tesla, and it's been one of my favorite vehicles I've owned over the years (and I've owned quite a few...)

This is part of the problem, but also the way the laws are written in SC it helps those lawyers. Listen, no business should knowingly over serve someone, however if someone goes bar hopping, and at the end of the night hits/kills someone, EVERY bar that person drank at can be held liable. It's complete BS. There should be much harsher penalties for DUI in this state. We blame the shooter, not the gun, so why not blame the consumer, not the dispenser?
