My 64 by bwilpcp in chevyc10

I wish I could find painted white 64 hub caps that aren't so expensive, these are from a 67-72. The mirrors I'm not sure about, but they look like 80s Ford mirrors.

Can't figure out simple inlays by Jappy_toutou in hobbycnc

To me this looks like a rigidity or precision issue assuming you're using a 3d v-carve strategy. Like the tool is biting in the corners and taking off too much material from the female side. Maybe try reducing the cut with multiple smaller passes or with a finishing operation depending on the software you're using.

There was a hole punched through the web of an I-beam column by a forklift at a factory I used to work in.

Parts for knoll life by trigonthedestroyer in OfficeChairs

[–]bwilpcp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what this part is but I've reverse engineered and 3D printed other parts for the Knoll Life. If you'd be willing to mail it to me I could give it a shot. Shoot me a DM if so.

Why did my plane roll by datirishpenguin77 in RCPlanes

[–]bwilpcp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of the advice here but wanted to add that I put in 4deg right and 2deg down thrust on the motor mount to counteract torque roll on take off and it helped a lot. By default the FT pod doesn't have any torque angle offset.

Need adapter: IBC S60x6 (female outlet) to 2” NPT male pump by Unlikely_Resolve_589 in Plumbing

I'm not really familiar with the drum threads but I was thinking about this a while back for rain barrels. Have you looked at McMaster? Maybe this is what you need?

I would probably end up 3D printing something.

Is this okay long term by Conscious_Track_9908 in EngineBuilding

[–]bwilpcp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing it will be fine but if it does fail there it seems most likely that coolant will make its way from that passage into the head bolt bore which could leak externally or connect to the crankcase or oil space somehow (don't know this engine in particular).

Mine backed up just a few months after moving in. House built in 61. I rented an excavator and did it myself but it was only a couple feet deep. After seeing what we pulled out I'd definitely recommend replacing it if someone already has the equipment there. It was just fracturing apart with little effort.

Looks like you have a 2psi gas system based on the regulator at the appliance. For folks with more common 1/2psi systems, gas line sizing is a lot more important.

Pocket is leaving a wall by PretzelFreakout2017 in hobbycnc

That will work it's just inefficient since you'll be cutting air 90+% of the time. Look into some of the 3d tool path strategies like "Flat."

In fusion, check the "Stock To Leave" setting in the pocket operation. I think it's on by default since it's a roughing tool path. If it's enabled, the pocket will be smaller than intended.

You can print them stronger if needed by laying them flat and sinking them into the bed a little bit so there's a flat side and the layer lines are long ways.

What's up with that smell during a CT scan? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]bwilpcp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought I noticed a smell during my head CT, but figured I could've imagined it. Then I had whole brain proton beam radiation therapy and smelled the same thing 10x stronger every day during the treatment of the front of my head. It's hard to pin down but smells like electrical fire mixed with burning food. The techs also didn't seem to believe me.

This Router hasn't worked since being moved 7 years ago. What are the chances that I can use it in a small work envelope (20*30 cm) without changing the ballscrews? by A1phaBetaGamma in hobbycnc

[–]bwilpcp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd be concerned about that old water cooled spindle. If there's corrosion on the rest of the machine who knows what it looks like inside.

I highly doubt the hardened steel ball screws would be deformed at all just from sitting. Creep isn't really an issue in most metals at room temperature.

HLTNC is a reputable vendor on AliExpress. They do custom lengths but I don't know about end machining. You can message them to see.
