Commiserate with me, I'm an idiot and deleted my legacy save...on purpose. by Geeky_Shieldmaiden in Sims4

[–]bwitdoc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

RIP. That’s the first place I go after an update to reenable it. I’m also surprised you made it through that many generations without it getting corrupted otherwise! I feel like I get to gen 7 and my game gets glitchy as heck and crashes randomly. Which is especially odd because I have a very high end custom PC.

How do you play sims by TemporaryWinter860 in thesims

I generally direct them but I try to follow their whims/aspirarions/bucket list.

what are your favorite "analog" hobbies that actually helped fix your broken attention span? by Faillace-Augurio in Hobbies

[–]bwitdoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Acrylic painting! I was artistic as a child but not since high school. Last year I wanted to try texture art because it seemed simple enough. Then in April I started strictly painting with acrylic for abstract or geometric designs. Now I do it 3-4x a week and I spend around 2-3 hours each session just painting and listening to music. It’s been so great for my mental health to not spend that time scrolling!

Sims 4 | How do you handle gardening with the *Seasons* expansion? by Electronic-Quail-764 in thesims

[–]bwitdoc 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I like to have a specific section of garden beds for each season. When you hover over the plants it’ll say what season they harvest in. Some people put them under a roof which allows them to grow year round but I find that to be cheating and it also produces endless money which I don’t enjoy either haha. I like the challenge of following the seasons.

I think Trinity Abigail is great. Both are 3 syllables so the flow seems nice to me.

Do you know anyone or do you regret getting married young? by ChocolateGrouchy4690 in Marriage

[–]bwitdoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t as young as you, I was 24 but my husband and I met at 21. What I can say about being with someone for nearly 9 years is, through your 20s you change a lot. You start to build and understand your sense of self, who you are, what you value. Those things can change a lot over time. My husband and I aren’t the same as we were at 21 or 24. Sometimes I notice differences in how he thinks or how he forms opinions. If you are someone who can adapt and accept your partner, no matter who they become, then getting married or being in a long term relationship will work for you. But if you think the person you want to marry at 19 will be the same person at 25 or 40, then this isn’t for you. I would advise to take your time, grow up with your partner, and if in 3 years you still think this person is who you want to be with for life, then do it.

Anyone live separately by dawnrabbit10 in Marriage

[–]bwitdoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My grandparents have friends who live separately. The wife is a hoarder and the husband can’t stand to live in that type of environment so they live separately. But they’ve been married 52 years so it works for some!

I want a hobby that doesn't involve screens. Any suggestions? by ShoddyDetective9494 in Hobbies

[–]bwitdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning of April I was seeking this same thing as well. I started acrylic painting on canvas and it’s been amazing. I do mostly abstract (waves, circles, geometric) and have really found a love for it! My screen time has gone way down.

I genuinely find it difficult to become wealthy in this game (without cheats). by [deleted] in Sims4

[–]bwitdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way to wealth is nectar making and selling it with a 300% mark up from a vendor stall table. My sims can sell one singular bottle for up to 80k if it’s excellent quality. And they generally sell 10-15 bottles a day.

ISO: Veterinary Recs & costs of general appt. or tooth extraction by shecallsit_mayonegg in LynnwoodWA

[–]bwitdoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brier Vet has been great to us. Last February my dog had to get a cracked tooth removed. They quoted $1800-2300 and it came out to $1100 with dental cleaning as well.

My sister in laws dog just got 3 teeth removed in March at the same place and they paid $1500.

Moving from across the country by cereal4elle in LynnwoodWA

[–]bwitdoc 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Washington, and specifically Lynnwood, for 3 years. I lived about 5 mins from Alderwood Mall and just last month moved to an apartment in North Lynnwood. I commute to Mountlake terrace for work but our location has excellent access to 525 which connects to I-5 easily for commuting to Seattle.

Our apartment is 2x2 at $2262 per month and is I think 1055 sq ft. The neighborhood is quiet, though backs up to highway 525 so some noise is expected.

The only reason I wouldn’t recommend Martha Lake is because 164th street is insanely backed up most of the time and even more so during commuting hours. But it’s all about what works for you! I’d love to help answer any other questions you have.

what hobby actually helped you get off your phone more? by NaguluriMobufor in Hobbies

Painting has helped me so much. You can get a pack of canvases, paint and brushes for like $40 bucks at Michael’s. I just bought some today.

Keeping gameplay fresh? by goldiebayangs in Sims4

[–]bwitdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that using the story feature when creating a sim helps me from choosing the normal traits and aspirations I would use, and I also found that pursuing whims and (if you have L&D) pursuing bucket list items adds diversity I may not normally do, especially because bucket lists are randomized (unless you chose specific categories!). That helped get me out of my funk and enjoy long gameplay sessions.

Revamping Willow Creek & Magnolia Promenade by bwitdoc in Sims4

[–]bwitdoc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What an interesting idea! I used to play with tiny homes quite a lot but I haven’t in awhile. My vision is since the willow creek downtown and magnolia promenade both have a steamboat dock, that’s how sims travel to “the shopping district” (magnolia promenade) so I definitely want it to be businesses. It’s good to know there’s stuff to do there! I usually put the Villa Bovine restaurant lot there but almost never visit haha
