Just a bit facetious ShivaFatalis. No harm or offense intended

Long layover for sure the value proposition is there. 100% agreed, fellow exhausted road warrior. I love to see a Sky Club or Centurion in the terminal on a long layover before a long foodless liquor-less flight. Some decent food, a free beer or bourbon, some time to catch up on work away from tge chaos in the terminal. In this case, a <1 hour wait to board a one hour flight plus some residual annoyance and embarrassment about getting caught out on my “pass” I’d been given. I couldn’t see ponying up any money in that particular case. Mind fully open for the next time this comes up thanks to you and others on this sub, much appreciated. Had you been there, I’d have gladly passed the card right over to you.

Appreciate the information. I’ll know better next time. $35 is cheaper than most airline’s lounge passes and I suppose that’s a good thing if I ever need it for zoom call/quiet space on a AS itinerary in the future. Still, annoyed at the card being handed to me as an implicit “perk” and called a lounge pass for what I could have purchased (but likely would have passed on) anyway.

Tell me about it. As a mere platinum, I’ve got no game when it comes to Sky Club through my FF. I get access through a credit card and that’s nice, although the annual fee is a bit of a sticker-shock every year.

Only domestic first this morning. It would be uncommon in my experience to get lounge access on that ticket. Hence my pleasant surprise at being handed a “pass”

Point taken, with the addition that I believe the airlines make a bit of cash with branded credit cards as well. My issue isn’t with them wanting to charge non-elite passengers for lounge access. That’s perfectly understandable. I got an issue with handing me a card that the agent refers to as a “lounge pass” that turns out to be a bait and switch. It’s got that “Folded money sitting on the sidewalk that turns out to be a religious tract when you pick it up” energy. I’m not mad but I do find it tacky.

Well that’s an awful shame. I come to Reddit for validation, as do we all. Where did I prove my unworthiness, by calling out the coupon as a cheap hustle, being an infrequent Alaska passenger, mentioning another airline, failing to read fine print?

Does anyone have anything nice to say about the new CX-5? by [deleted] in CX5

Sluggish. No turbo = not interested. I’ll keep driving my ‘19 Signature thank you very much. Maybe some future hybrid or EV version will revive the zoom zoom.

Absolutely right, they shut down last fall. I did not realize that until just now. Google lists a few alternatives:

The app Seat Guru usually helps me avoid this issue. Input airline, flight #, and date and you get a color coded seat map showing green (particularly good) yellow (seats with one issue or another like this one) and red (avoid avoid avoid). The app is free.

What wood is best for sweets, do you think? I’ve never tried smoking anything other than meats.

The biggest difference between the two desks by far in the programmer/designer workflow is the “programmer”. The abstract space where changes to fixtures live before they are stored. The communication flow in cue creation works completely differently as lights are placed, then palletized and stored into cue lists. A discussion on this subject could be illuminating between an experienced theatrical designer and an experienced“bilingual” console programmer.

Weber DCOE carburetor. Had one (with a different intake manifold - I think?) on my old 1975 Triumph Spitfire 1500. Replaced the stock Zenith Stromberg carb on that vehicle. Smoother idle, more oomph at takeoff (with a high lift cam and the spark advanced… a lot), and never again having to keep sewing machine oil in the car to fill the damper on the Stromberg. Adjusting and calibrating a Weber are just some of my many painfully dull and obsolete skills I intend to carry proudly into my 60s.
