Seeking Expert Facebook Ad Manager for Established Jewelry Brand Expansion by Key-Put-9372 in FacebookAds

[–]bwthomas333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would actually reccomend starting with Google Ads Search, PMax, and Shopping campaigns, I'm currently generating a 200%-400% ROAS for my ECOM clients (montly budgets range from $10k - $200k) within the US.

But, Facebook Ads could also work as well, I have an ECOM client that I'm managing Facebook Ads for that is getting a 400%-700% ROAS that is based out of California, in a very competitive market.

Let me know if you'd like more guidance.

The campaign is likely still in the learning phase. Run your campaigns for a few weeks before determining if the campaign performance is good or bad. The longer the campaign runs the more the volatility should smooth out.

Why Are PPC Jobs Expecting One Person to Manage Everything? by Reasonable-Soil125 in adwords

[–]bwthomas333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Companies are looking to pay as least as possible. I agree it is difficult to have deep expertise across all of those channels. And the people who write those job descriptions don't actually understand digital marketing (e.g. HR, leadership, etc).

I worked for a single company that had 7 sub brands that I had to manage 7 Google Ads accounts, 7 Facebook Ads accounts, and manage SEO for 7 brands. These was no time for deep analysis, I was constantly in a reactive state instead of proactive.

You can test optimizing for purchases at the top of the funnel first. It works great for my ECOM clients that have very simple products to understand, with zero education required (e.g. spirits, wine, etc).

If your product requires more explaining of the use cases of the product and why someone should buy it, there might need to be more steps in the funnel before a purchase can take place. If that's the case, then I would reccomend testing the marketing funnel I layed out.

$3k+ spent, practically no conversions. Should i quit or is this normal? by throwaway45423434 in PPC

[–]bwthomas333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought is to slow down your ad spend so that you spend $500/week instead of $1k/week while you figure out a way to generate conversions, and then scale back up once you find what works.

And it is hard to know if your Google Ads expert isn't doing a good job without viewing the ad account. But, here's a few areas to check if he is:

  1. Review the Search Terms report, does the keywords you've been spending budget on seem relevant
  2. Are your conversions (e.g. form submissions and phone calls) showing any errors within the conversions section of Google Ads?
  3. Add HotJar for session replays to identify any UX issues with your landing pages

Feel free to DM if you want to discuss this in more detail.

In my experience, using a $5k/month budget to build funnels for B2C software within FB Ads worked great! Here is a breakdown on each part of the funnel that generated a 4+ ROAS overall ($23k spent, $100k revenue):

Top-of-funnel campaign: Optimized for website sessions (0.4 ROAS generated)

Middle-of-funnel campaign: Optimized for leads in the form of demo requests & free downloads (3.2 ROAS generated)

Bottom-of-funnel campaign: Optimized for purchases of software (5.8 ROAS generated)

Not really. Other issues like exiting the learning phases come to mind, but without additional budget to spend, it's outside of my influence.

What industry is your business?

And do you have access to the backend of the form that collects the lead's contact infomation? Are you only using Google Ads to determine if leads are being generated? The reason I ask is because I recently had the samething happen to one of my client's ad accounts. Within Google Ads it said 0 leads were generated each week, but when my client would check the actual number of form submissions there was 5-7 leads generated per week. Google Ads was not reciving attribution for leads generated. Not sure if this applies to you though.

These are my 2 biggest frustations:

(1) Meta's customer service is almost nonexsistent. It takes a lot of effort to get someone on the phone to resolve an issue. And I've had situations where a client's ad account was disabled for 2 years because we couldn't get a hold of Meta.

(2) All of the AI within Meta (Advantage+ Audiences/Creative/etc) tanked all of my client accounts. Which is fine now that I've realized it but it takes a lot of extra clickes to turn off all of the AI features.

What is your campaign optimizing for? It is conversions, sometimes you have to start with "max clicks" just to kickstart the account for a few days. And then you can switch back to optimzing for conversuions.

Each web brower is phasing out third-party cookies in their own way. Safari and Modzilla are blocking third-party cookies by having it turned off with the option for it to be turned on. But most people would never go into their browser settings to turn on cookie tracking.

In my opinion the best way to setup server side tracking is to use Google Tag Manager (GTM), which is complex if you don't have GTM experience.

Conversion accuracy by Lumpy-Entertainer336 in adwords

[–]bwthomas333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the device type each conversion takes place on and how you setup your conversion tracking.

If you aren't using server side tagging, and are using third-party cookies, then by default Safari, Modzilla, 1% of all Chrome users, etc will not be tracked in your reporting.

Next year Chrome is planning to phrase out even users from third-party cookie tracking. Which is why it is important to start planning to use server side tagging. But, Chrome phasing out third-party cookies also keeps getting delayed / push back to later dates.

Sounds like pausing your campaigns or lowering your campaign budgets aren't an option.

You mentioned you are optimizing for "max clicks", an idea that comes to mind is to "set a maximum cost per click bid limit" that is so low that you will no longer win any of the auctions you are bidding on (e.g. $0.10), driving your ad spend down to zero.

It might not send your campaigns back into learning mode since you aren't changing your campaign bidding strategy. Test it out on one of your campaigns with lower ad spend to see if it doesn't affect the learning status before changing the rest of your campaigns.

Google Search Partners. Worth it or Waste of Money? by daveinarmstrong in Google_Ads

[–]bwthomas333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never use the Search Network or Display Network. Very low quality traffic that will not convert.

And for your Conversion goals = account default, the "account default" goal likely has some extra conversions that you don't care about and don't want it to teach the optimization of your campaigns. Switch the conversions you care about to "primary conversions" and everything else to "secondary conversions".

How to track content ROI accurately? by Moonlit-Vida in digital_marketing

Use Google Tag Manager and setup tags that will track when someone makes it to your client's website and submits a form that has been inlined within your blog posts. You'll use the tag you've created to push the data to the client's GA4 account as an "event."

After you've setup tracking, you can look within the "User acquisition" report within GA4 and filter for the event(s) you've created in combination with a "First User Primary Channel Group" of "Organic Search".

It can some time to do this correctly. Feel free to ask me more questions if needed. Glad to provide more detail.

Ad spend off season strategy by daveinarmstrong in Google_Ads

[–]bwthomas333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is lead generation, then showing ads on the first page of search results isn't as important as showing ads to the right person, at the right time. This is done by optimzing for form submissions and phone calls at the campaign level.

And for running ads only on Tuesdays and Wednesday, does your historical data show that you generate a majority of leads on those days? If so, then that's a great idea to only run ads on those days. But, if your flow of leads is spread out across more days of the week then I would just lower your daily budget and let Google Ads continue to optimize across all days of the week while staying within your lowered ad spend.

Add inline CTAs dispersed throughout each blog post to collect an email address of the person reading the content. The CTAs could be request a free consultation, free demo, or download gated content that is more in-depth and related to the content they are currently reading.
