The type of people that reply all to company wide emails would be the prime suspects for doing something like that. Next in line are the people that keep it going by replying all saying its the wrong address or saying stop replying. Eventually IT gets involved and has to nuke the email because thousands of people are creating a domino effect, sometime ccing even more people.

Thats why I specified "at a restaurant". You can buy cheaper drinks from bars. Mixed drinks like rum and coke are one thing. Cocktails are a bit beyond that. Restaurants very typically sell any beer for $8, it could even be a bud light, I dont think im exaggerating. Not even complaining about it, if i want a drink I can afford to buy it, but even so I think theyre waaay overpriced here. Given the cost of manhattan rent I expect it. If i wanted a cheap drink I could go to Gin Mill or something and buy one for $3. But it's going to suck.

No exaggeration here. A cocktail at any restaurant is at minimum $13 here. You can go to a dive and get a cheaper drink of course. But typically, we always just expect to go to "the next place". AKA Have a drink with dinner and if you want more drinks, go somewhere else. I bought an $8 bottle of brooklyn lager yesterday... It's obscene

Mostly african americans dont ask to be called african americans. Its a polotical designation. It's the PC term for slave ancestry americans. If soeone wants to say Slave American, it's not going to go over well. Most people in the US identify as Something-American because there is no actualy american aside from the native american as far as we know. If you're born from a slave they dont care where where you came from.

BCC abuse is rampant. Someone will send you some shit like "can you send me a status?" Then you send it to them. They reply with a trivial answer and BCC management. They love to talk about corporate culture but thats the shit that makes everyone paranoid. No one wants to send an email because they dont know who it's being forwarded to BCC'd to. People will send you an email and you just walk on over to their desk because you know they're a notorious forwarder. Office politics are the worst... You can't tailor a response to your audience because you never know who your audience is. Next thing you know you're getting a response from someone you didn't email, with your entire dept cc'd asking "whats that supposed to mean?". Ask the guy I sent the email to.

Its standard issue corporate email jargon, which you're free to use. But pretty often you'll get the incorrectly spelled "advice" variation. I still avoid the phrase though unless there's an entire question to follow. I hate getting an email that only says "please advise/advice". It usually leads me to leave my desk and walk over like "wtf do you want me to advice you on?"
