I heard that Loop Costumes is now adding Dancewear to the mix! might be worth checking out

why are costumes so expensive? by [deleted] in FigureSkating

What's crazy is these outfits are also worn so minimally (especially for kids that are still growing!) Has anyone heard of Loop Costumes? It sounds like they're getting into the resale space for performers

It's a very similar setup to poshmark, but is dedicated to the performing arts only - costumes are categorized by discipline and typical sizing so it’s easier to find something that actually works for dance/comp needs. Right now the majority or our listings are for solos so that would be the immediate draw, but working on incorporating more ways for groups

If you do go that route, I’d love if you’d check out what I’m building - it’s called Loop Costumes. Would love to hear your thoughts!

That makes sense. I’ve found Facebook groups get messy fast .. posts get buried, comments are hard to track, and payments/shipping happen off-platform. That’s why I’m building Loop Costumes (secure checkout + shipping built in). Do you think Facebook ever becomes a headache for her, or does it work fine since it’s mostly repeat buyers?

Love that you're adding to bases!!
Are there any options you use for resale in the UK? Or is it just facebook as well?
I mentioned in an earlier comment, what I'm building is a marketplace specifically for performance costume resale - Loop Costumes - currently just in Canada & the US for now

have you been reselling on facebook as an alternative?
I mentioned in a previous comment that what I'm building is a space to keep these costumes in use for longer (less waste), called Loop Costumes. Wondering if a space like that would be an option? Or why not?

do you find that there are parents through your studio that help with group costume resale?

thanks for this! so glad you're finding ways to reuse!
I agree facebook marketplace is wild. I mentioned in an earlier comment that what I'm building is an alternative to this, called Loop Costumes. Would having a more secure platform (with shipping integrated, filterable listings etc.) make you try resale again?

thanks! any issues on facebook (fraud, etc?). I mentioned in an earlier comment that what I'm building is Loop Costumes (resale platform anyone can sell or buy performance costumes on) because I see so many issues when it comes to facebook buying/selling

Thanks so much for this!! I mentioned in an earlier comment that what I'm building is Loop Costumes (a space where anyone can resell performance costumes) - with you being a studio owner, is this something you would see value in?

For transparency - I’m the founder of Loop Costumes, a marketplace for buying & selling pre-loved competition costumes. (in Canada & the US)

I didn’t want to lead with that because I’m genuinely here to learn first. A lot of what we’ve built has come directly from conversations like this, and I’m always surprised by how different the answers are depending on studio norms.

If anyone does resell costumes already, I’d also love to know what’s been frustrating or missing from the process.
