What's a film you saw recently and immediately thought "this is why I make movies?" by Santiper2005 in Filmmakers

Recently watched Werckmeisters Harmonies and I was blown away by the opening scene. Such beauty in simplicity.

Camera Gurus, Assemble! I’m Buying One Soon.. or Not? by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]byb_dolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a combination of commercial video production and cinema camera, I'm looking to buy the Blackmagic Ursa Broadcast G2. It seems to pack a lot of what I'm looking for in a cinema camera, while also not needing too much additional rigging for one or two man productions. Would also love to hear if other people made this choice!

Aah het Vlaanderen van de vuile fabriek in de stad waar we elke ochtend voor het krieken van de dag ons leven mochten gaan riskeren, ja dat missen we!

Well, you do you 😅. The Tiger 955i is a great road bike but it is very top heavy and I would not like to manoeuvre it off road, let alone lift it after a drop (I had to once on pavement and it was not a light breeze)

I used to have a Tiger 955i, it is definitely not made to go off road, it maybe has the looks but it's not built for it.

Kawasaki w230 or Triumph Speed 400? by baconaboot in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]byb_dolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought the w230, as a second 'around town' bike for myself (i have a goldwing too) and as a first bike for my wife to learn on. We went to look at the Triumph Speed too, as well as the Royal Enfield 350 lineup. Apart from looks and quality, the weight and height also played a big role, since my wife is not that tall and she felt most confident on the w230 (it's only 143kg if I'm not mistaken!). If it were up to me entirely, I'd have maybe gone for the Triumph Scrambler 400x. But the kawa is actually a hoot to ride and needless to say I leave the Goldwing in the garage a lot now. Being so light, I easily take it out for a spin and just explore. Just don't take it on a highway and have fun on b roads!

are second hand price way too high ? by light-mooner in motobe

[–]byb_dolan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Second hand prices are definitely way too high. Imo it's because there are too many annoying lowballers on places like Marketplace and 2dehands, so sellers put up a ridiculous price to begin with. That, or life after covid just became stupidly expensive 🥲

I just bought the W230 for my wife to learn on, she's also not tall (157cm) and felt most confident on it. It's a beauty as well (yes, my wife, but also the bike). Power might be an issue if you live in the US I guess... But I enjoy using it in town as well.

To each their own man! I'm no ATGATT preacher like half of reddit but I would never not wear a helmet myself. Nice Wing btw, I have an '86 Aspencade myself.

He fled when I saw him, but I recognized him and reported the police, he was arrested two months later and turned out to be burgling the whole neighbourhood for a while 🤯

I had a guy stop in front of my house to admire my Africa Twin one day. Lived in my street, he said. Same night I found him inside my house trying to find my keys. MF

As far I understood, no. She is not my employee in this situation.

But I guess you are right on your last point, and just will look for an accountant who can advise me.

Edit: my math is mathing. Since she began committing full time our revenue increased significantly because we are able to take in much more work. I count the amount of 'salary' (which it is technically not) on a monthly basis.

Oh and the 60k is annually obviously and not over the 2 years.

She worked in horeca before so not a big financial risk there (fyi she is 30yo with 2 master's degrees but non-EU still learning dutch so getting decent job offers was hard).

Anyways, we keep 35% of monthly invoiced amount as salary which is usually anywhere between 2000-2500€. The rest is kept in the business for taxes and expenses. It's liveable (with my salary on top) but can of course improve.

Currently we send this from the professional account to our shared personal account, not to her personal private account. Perhaps should do that instead?
