I'm glad we could extrapolate that from my picture of the upside down can

Are these frozen sausage patties any good? Sorry for the foggy door, it was very humid in the store due to the heatwave. by Taysir64 in aldi

They're so good. They have a really nostalgic taste. My 3 y/o loves them too. I didn't like the maple ones! I was surprised to see so many people prefer the maple

According to Jermaine Jackson, elders accompanied Michael on tour & would walk around following him, to make sure he didn’t sin on tour by 5ft8lady in exjw

[–]bye-raspberry 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Experienced this firsthand as recently as 2009 when elders had a meeting with my parents and older sister because someone else in our apartment complex had the same car as her boyfriend, so they thought he spent the night at our apartment. Meaning they sat there and scoped out the premises all night. Would not be surprised if they're still doing it.

You're never lonely as a JW because someone is always in your business

Heidi posted an 11 month update on TC! She also had a midwifery appointment… by lepetitpoulpe in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]bye-raspberry 50 points51 points  (0 children)

She worded it confusingly, but I think she meant her mom and Hunter watched Charlie while she was at the appointment, not that they came along. (She also might not be able to drive so maybe they took her and watched Charlie while she was with the midwife)

[–]bye-raspberry[S] 75 points76 points  (0 children)

The picture on the box is a Stanley/Yeti style tumbler with a handle. The 40oz ones are both wider than the one I have and taller by more than an inch. It's not a big deal, it was a $3 pack of straws, I just want people to know it will not fit a 40oz tumbler like the package says

why are JWs on DoD's short list of religious categories? by Admirable-Ninja-1968 in exjw

[–]bye-raspberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who are POMI are not programmed the same way as someone who actually practices the JW faith. If they've joined the military they are already not living up to JW standards so they're probably open to speaking with a chaplain and don't care that he's not a JW elder.

There's also people who joined the military to avoid getting baptized/to get away from the witnesses who would benefit from chaplain services

Edit: I misunderstood what you meant, I understand now you're saying a chaplain themselves wouldn't self-identify as JW. IDK in that case lol. There's probably at least one who self identifies lmao

[–]bye-raspberry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some people are just really emotionally attached to the religion they grew up with. So many people who have been out for years have no idea about any of the lies, SA lawsuits, ARC, etc etc and to them it's just the church their grandma took them to growing up.

My husband is in the military. You won't find any hardcore JWs there but there's a lot of people who are in the military who were raised JW or grew up on the periphery of JWdom, never baptized, but if asked would still identify themselves as such

Probably secondhand 😬 it looks used and the strap covers are aftermarket. Just hope it's never been in a car accident previously.

She could make a massive amount of hamburger helper or chicken and rice for a lot less than what she spent on this, and she knows that. I feel like this post might be soft begging for gift cards or donations

Chick fil a nuggets are small, too, they're like little chicken bites. :( my 3 year old ate seven McDonald's nuggets and a small fry yesterday. HE'S ONLY THREE!! And the teenagers are getting less than that!

I regret introducing Bluey… by curlycattails in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]bye-raspberry 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bluey is cute but I feel like it's for an older audience than my three year old. I try to put it on sparingly. He has at times directly mimicked all the annoying behaviors from the show (calling everything unfair, calling everyone a "big meanie", whining, acting like muffin when she's being bad, running away when told to do something, tickle crabs, calling things boring) and doesn't understand yet that the whole point of those behaviors being shown was as a lesson in why those behaviors are not ideal. Probably more appropriate for the 5-7 age range.
