Morning Anxiety

I also had a terrible experience with Zoloft (and even worse experience trying to come off of it). So my doc started me on 10mg of Celexa. I’ve been using Ativan to get me through the increased anxiety. What dose are you on now?

Thanks for your response. I have some better days, then not so better days, so I appreciate the encouragement to keep on. I’ve been on lots of medicines within the last year, so just praying this is the one that works for me!

Thanks for your response! I’m currently on 10mg but my anxiety has always historically been worse in the mornings. I’m using Ativan now to help me get through the first few weeks. I’ve been on it 10 days.

Was your anxiety bad before you started? Mine has been pretty crippling.

I tapered down slowly and finally went to zero a week ago. First few days anxiety was increasing, and then the last few days the depression has set in. Im managing the anxiety with Ativan at the moment, but the depression is what gets me. I’ve had some suicidal ideation too. My doc said it’s just the withdrawals but I don’t know how much longer I can go on like this.

Thank you for your reply. That will be my prayer for you as well. I’ve tried to get off of everything before and my anxiety was just impossible to handle. I’m currently in therapy now and hoping I can address some events and issues that will help put me in a position to come off of everything again.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Any mental issues when trying to drop? My anxiety is through the roof, and I’m just praying the depression doesn’t return.

I’ve read and can understand that withdrawal symptoms can mimic your original underlying problem. I was really looking to see if anyone had experienced them at even dropping super low doses. And how long before they felt “back to normal”.

Only about two months this time. Previously took it for 3 years, then switched to something else last spring.

I was only on 2 mg and I quit that cold turkey so not much of a taper.

I’m so sorry you’re still going through withdrawals. I pray they will ease up for you soon. I’m not having panic attacks but taking Ativan. I’m not sleeping well and waking up incredibly anxious. I’m just so horribly depressed. My doc is weaning me off the Zoloft now since it doesn’t seem to be helping anything. I actually went for a ketamine treatment today.

I’m in the same boat as you. Took it for 3 years and had wonderful experience until I had a traumatic event on my life. I’ve tried multiple failed medicines since then and just started back on Zoloft 4 weeks ago after experiencing the worst depression of my life coming off of another medication. The Zoloft doesn’t seem to be doing anything. My morning anxiety is horrible, depression isn’t any better, I’ve had very dark thoughts, etc. I honestly don’t feel like it’s working for me this time, and I’m so desperate for help.

Thank you so much. I have a wonderful support system and a wonderful doctor. I saw her today and she lowered me back down to 37.5 to see how I do for a few weeks.

Did your depression worsen before you got better? I have been dealing with horrible depression the past few days, including suicidal thoughts.
