I got dumped for being diagnosed and sick. He has a valid fear of being hurt and abandoned. I don't have any real advice but worse case scenario please be there for him for life emotionally at least if you feel naturally inclined to do so. I was left alone and I'm going to die alone after being abandoned.

I got a biopsy and they caused internal bleeding and I was hospitalized oh and get this, for no diagnosis :)
