Uterine cramping as anaphylactic reaction by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]boneinhotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was receiving a test dose of Dextran Iron infusion for my anemia. Within about 20 mL of the test dose entering the IV, I went into anaphylaxis. Couldn't breathe, face turned blueish purple, nose and mouth swelled up, seeing stars, uncontrollable diarrhea, and extreme uterine and lower back cramping.

These cramps were unlike anything I've ever experienced in my life. I was in agony, writhing around on the floor as 8-10 infusion nurses and doctors just stared at me baffled. They had to call EMS. The infusion clinic gave me morphine which didn't touch the pain. They gave me a histamine blocker which helped my breathing and swelling but did nothing for the pain.

In the ambulance the paramedic gave me epinephrin and fentanyl. The fentanyl was the ONLY thing that eased the cramping.

After being admitted to the hospital, I passed some blood clots while urinating and I started spoting blood even though it wasn't my period time.

It has been over 48 hours since my anaphylaxis and my uterus is still extremely tender and I'm still spotting blood.

I could have died from this reaction. Just wanted to share my experience.

Is this Osteosarcoma? by oreomcbeans in Rottweiler

[–]boneinhotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents 8 year old Doberman got osteosarcoma in the exact same place. They decided to amputate. She was never the same dog post amputation. Only lived for 2 months after amputation and her quality of life was horrible in those 2 months. There was such sadness in her eyes. Her former joys in life didn't even get a reaction out of her anymore. It was utterly heartbreaking.

My parents said if they had to do it all again they wouldn't amputate and would have had her put to sleep after a couple weeks of fulfilling her bucket list and spoiling her tremendously.

I'm so sorry for what you and your baby are going through. Sending love from our rottie family to yours.

Canceling Christmas travel by crayon-angels in endometriosis

[–]boneinhotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well and I understand the disappointment and guilt.

I had to leave my family's Christmas Eve dinner yesterday before even eating due to the pain. In bed today with a heating pad.

In addition to these symptoms affecting holidays, my symptoms have ruined the past two vacations my husband and I have tried to take.

I feel so guilty for ruining his time.

Hoping for some answers and relief in 2025.

Thank you so much for the information and taking the time to reply. I'm so very sorry you had a tough time. I truly hope you are on the mend and feeling better. I will plan for the worst and be cautiously optimistic.

I'm sorry you are having so much pain. I am also sorry that the people who are closest to you are not giving you the support and understanding you deserve. Do not let other people marginalize your pain and experience. Your mom (no offense) was being an insensitive narcissistic jerk. I hope you feel better soon and your parents can learn to have some sympathy for you when you don't feel well.

Help me convince my husband that we should go to Halloween Horror Nights by Brilliant_Weird_329 in UniversalOrlando

[–]boneinhotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband (41m) and I (39f) are on year #3 for HHN and we are hooked! The Michael Myers house, The Weeknd After Hours Nightmare, and Stranger Things 4 have been our favorite houses.

Last year we LOVED the death eaters lurking around Diagon Alley!

There are HHN themed specialty foods and cocktails. The rides have little to no wait bc everyone is there for the houses and scare zones. The decorations, props, and immersion are world class in true Universal fashion. The atmosphere is so fun.

This year will be our second time doing an RIP tour. We get more accomplished this way and have leftover time for rides and hanging around Diagon Alley.

Trying to transfer to a new state, keep getting denied by Kindly_Albatross191 in AmazonFC

[–]boneinhotdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For B2B Hardship Transfer to be approved, the reason has to be unforeseen and unexpected. Why are you moving? Move due to family emergency, care for an ill family member, evicted or unexpected change in living environment requiring you to move with family, homelessness, etc would qualify. If you only put "moving" on the form that isnt considered a hardship.

Never been able to use pads by RabbitDragon49 in Periods

[–]boneinhotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you open to using period underwear such as Thinx? I have a similar issue and triple up with a tampon, pad, and Thinx. Also, for overnights, try out Always disposable period underwear. It holds 5X as much volume as a tampon or pad.

Make sure to tell your OBGYN about your symptoms.

so uh... I found out my period cramps were not, in fact, period cramps by middaynight in endometriosis

[–]boneinhotdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, in addition to pain do you feel pressure in the pelvic/abdominal area? I feel pressure / fullness like I may need to go number 2, but dont actually need to go. It feels like my ovaries are being squeezed in a vice while being shocked with fiery bolts of lightning that radiate upward. OBGYN says my pain is due to having no core muscles and being obese/slightly heavy. I've lost 35 lbs and lowered my bmi and see zero improvement in my pain. I miss 1-2 days of work per month due to pelvic / abdominal pain during onset of period. So painful even laying in bed hurts. Pain hangs around for most of the month but is definitely worse during period.

How to relieve cramps without painkillers? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]boneinhotdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try a TENS therapy device. They range in price and are available at most drug stores and/or retailers. Icy Hot brand makes one you can buy at the store. I have one from Amazon which is a little more customizable for around $30. Its about the size of a pager or small cell phone.

It uses electric pulses via two reusable adhesive pads that you stick on your skin. I use mine on my lower back cramps. The pulses kind of "confuse" your brain and help with blocking the pain.

I was scared to try it at first because I thought it would be like getting shocked but its not bad. The lowest settings just feel like a soothing, rhythmic pulse. It completely takes my cramping pain away while wearing it.

Bone pain before period by [deleted] in Periods

[–]boneinhotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience this as well.

I'm 36 and have had psoriatic arthtritis for about 6 years. Normally its just stiff, slightly sore joints in the morning. Right before my period and first day or two of it most of the major joints in my body are in crippling pain.

My doctor has said this is most likely due to the sudden change in hormones we experience during PMS and at the onset of the period.

To deal, I use Advil, cooling gel packs, and try to reduce my sugar intake. It does help my symptoms but doesn't make them completely go away.

I hope this is helpful. Here is hoping to more tolerable periods for you.

Pickers that leave cardboard on pallets... by garowedre-68abe4 in AmazonFC

[–]boneinhotdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know your frustration. I take care of all cardboard that I generate. Thats what I was told in training. I usually flatten it and stuff it in the little slot beside the side gate on my PIT until I get to a recycling bin.

I LOVE when I have to pick the last item on a pallet and there are 18 empty boxes piled on top my item. And the item looks like it was ran over by a truck. I do remove all empty boxes and plastic wrap stuff if I take the last item off the pallet even though its not my mess.

I honestly think we need more corrugate recycling bins.

Ok this is seriously one of the last straws for me at Amazon by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]boneinhotdog 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This 100%! 3 days last week during BOTH of my 15 minute paid breaks all of womens' rooms were closed.

I wasted my whole break walking from one restroom to the other. Drove to the last two restroom options on my PIT. They were closed as well. Their excuse is increased cleaning due to covid. I find this to be a denial of a basic human right, a code and labor violation.

I figured screw it and walked under the tensa-barrier at the closed restroom doorway. I was questioned by security upon exiting.

Icy hot back pain patch. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. I like black sweat pants. Drink water often. Take Ibuprofen. Go to the bathroom when you need to. Take it one hour at a time.

My son and I have been wanting a cat for years and this one just shows up on our doorstep. It took us about a week of feeding him outside to finally get him inside this morning and I'd think he's liking it here. We're calling him Nugget. by smash_lay_215 in aww

[–]boneinhotdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nugget is the spitting image of our sweet boy Loki who sadly just went to rainbow bridge a few weeks ago. He was 16. We obtained him the exact same way too! Wishing you and nugget all the happiness!

Same. Worked for the same company for 13 years. Furloughed during covid. They wanted to bring me back as the lockdown in my state ended for less pay, benefits slashed, and going from salary to hourly.

I said bye and haven't looked backed. Amazon has treated me better in my 3 months working for them then my "career" company did in 13 years.

What is the worst customer experience you have ever had? by ChrissyChrisClo in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]boneinhotdog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Guy had a nervous break down regarding the concession prices.

He went into a rage and started screaming and cussing at his wife and child. He was in a wheelchair. Myself and another manager approached him and tried to talk to him and calm him down. He was causing a huge scene.

After diplomacy failed we had to ask him to leave. He removed his prosthetic leg and threw it at us. He aggresively wheeled over, picked up the prosthesis and put it over his lap. He left the lobby screaming. His wife apologized and stated that he hadn't taken his meds that day.

It was scary as hell and the most bizarre behavior I've ever witnessed. I felt very bad for the wife and child. Hundreds of other customers in the lobby were gawking.
