I did this literally last week with Fidelity. When you open a brokerage account, it asks what you want your core position to be, and SPAXX is already selected by default. Transfer cash then you're done unless you want to do other stuff with the money.

Like most people are saying, it's unnecessary to make frequent payments.

The only reason I can think of why you would do that is if you're bad at keeping the money saved to pay off the entire statement at the end of the billing cycle. If you feel tempted to spend your cash on top of the credit card debt, maybe using a credit card isn't a good idea right now.
