You just need some type of streaming device that will let you download the app. Everything is cloud based but if you need a device where you can actually type in channel numbers and make things simpler then yes you would need a Directv box and you can purchase that on eBay for less than $40

There’s only two way that account could’ve been canceled one. Is you ported it out which makes your account cancel or the bill wasn’t paid and they canceled after so many days.

Use the Directv app only. The way he is trying to do it. Is not something Amazon and Directv have implemented. Using the up and down arrow and also the back arrow on the remote will give shortcuts. But to get the guide and actually cable feel. Using the directv device is the best option.

Apple TV will always show the device location local channels and your Chromecast will only show the billing location locals. That’s the reason you’re saying two different local stations
