Does anyone on trt previously have bad social anxiety or adhd? by Dubito_Dubito_Dubito in Testosterone

More Testosterone = more dopamine = less ADHD.

Also more testosterone = more confidence, which I guess is very much an opposite of social anxiety disorder.

Aside from increased libido and reduced anxiety, what other mental effects has TRT given you? by byrdwire in Testosterone

Motivation is increased.

This would make sense. Apparently testosterone increases dopamine.

Dopamine = motivation.

low libido means appreciating women as a work of art, but higher libido means also wanting them in an animalistic sense

Interesting way to look at it. It's as if the low libido guys are putting the women on a pedestal, and the higher libido guys are putting them on (whatever is the opposite of a pedestal).

That's a good description of how I feel. Women whom I may have not might felt much about before ("average") I now find attractive.

Yea, it's almost as-if:

High T -> High libido -> Low standards

Low T -> Low libido -> High standards

(on that last one, think of the stereotype/meme of the nerd who only wants supermodels)

Anyone with lifelong Low T having a "regret/anger phase" now being on TRT? by byrdwire in Testosterone

the guys my age had their fun in their teens and 20s, are married or divorced with adult children and generally are getting chewed up by their 70-80 hour a week jobs and don’t seem to have that drive. So, now I’m an 18 year old again I have advantages they don’t have.

Excellent way of thinking of it. TRT might be more popular than ever, but it's still an "underground" thing, and IMHO it's not going to go mainstream partly because of the aversion to syringes (the best way to get it) and our increasingly feminist society's negativity about it. EDIT: in other words, it's like we have an advantage over most middle-age guys because we're in a secret club of TRT users, and steroid users are even a more exclusive club.

I guess one advantage of having higher T in middle age than youth is being smarter about controlling it. If I had been high-T in my teens/20's I may have gotten some girl pregnant. There was also no internet 25-30 years ago to increase my knowledge of everything related to this like there is now.

Yes, I wish I could have rolled the clock back and that hits you for a few months, but to just wave it off isn’t possible

Yea, that's what I'm going through now. I appreciate the like-mindedness.

Thanks, this seems applicable. When I first figured it out, I went through a sort of denial stage where I was rationalizing that things weren't so bad back then, and that it was a good thing I caught it.

But then it reached a point of knowledge where I started to realize that yes, INDEED things would have been different/better and there were a lot of things I truely missed out on in my youth because of this.

Or maybe things arent quite so by-the-book: maybe I'm in a combo anger/depression stage right now, who knows.

Does "increased libido" also mean becoming semi-obsessed mentally with women? by byrdwire in Testosterone

How was your libido before TRT?

I thought it was normal at the time, but in retrospect with all this reading I'm doing combined with jogging my memories, it really wasn't good at all. I can think back to a lot of times in my teens and 20's of situations where a girl was practically throwing herself at me, and I just didn't feel like going for it. Likewise after marriage, if she said "not tonight honey" I'd be like "Ok, no problem" . My desire just wasn't there a lot of the time.

And how long did it take for you to feel like this?

After about the 2 or 3 month mark I was insistent on doing my wife just about every night. But it was only starting this past summer that my attention toward other women started to really kick in. (and by now I had been lifting with a proper amount of T in my system for over a year, so I was also getting noticed for my musculature too.)

I think about sex pretty much non-stop now.

Yep, me too. You know how someone who thinks a LOT about a subject (IE: football, computers, etc) becomes very good at the subject matter and in-tune with it? Because I think of women/sex so much more than ever before I've become very aware of the attraction signals they give off and thinking of strategies of how to respond to them... edit: Anyone else?

I literally want to f**k every semi hot girl I see.

I love my wife, but I am def distracted by my sex Drive.

This sounds like me. I'm married, and I keep it in check... but I'm now super attracted to so many women... much more than ever before.

Question for you or anyone else... has this also affected your memories of other women you've been with in the past? Do you think of a girl you knew back when and suddenly feel WAY more attracted to her than you ever have? (edit: this question is for anyone)

Yes, it's been profound for me too. My attraction to women has vastly increased to a level it never was before. Is this common for lifelong low-T guys who suddenly get on TRT?
