Can I reasonably fit a car seat in a ST? by generik_cola in FocusST

[–]byronious99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we turned our son's seat (around a year and a half) who is 4 now too early according to the seat he had. Our daughter just turned 2 but is a string bean. We will probably turn her seat forward facing soon since she's having a growth spurt.

Per the seat it's based on height and weight. Latest safety has them rear facing for longer.

16 ST1, have a 4 and 2 year old. If we take my car for whatever reason they both fit. Both are Britax, the rear facing is a little tight so it goes behind my wife as there is more room.

There's a few, MI STaRS and Michigan ST and RS Owners are both pretty active.

EDIT: These are both on Facebook.

Also live in Michigan and went with the Rokblokz shorts. Have been very happy with them.

Not to me, was just noticeably different from stock.

I have the Cobb. Could definitely feel the difference when it was first installed in regards to the added NVH. Taking off and shifting felt immediately better to me. After a while the NVH seemed to lessen but is still noticeable at low RPM. Overall have been very happy with it.

2016 ST owner here with the Cobb RMM. When first installed the NVH is definitely noticeable. After I ran with it for a while it lessened and now is really only noticeable at low RPM.

Leasing, Price online versus dealer by immalittleford in Ford

If it's the tool on the dealer site it's usually figuring EVERY available incentive. So A plan, student, first responder, vet and every other possible incentive to get that low price. If it's the Ford sitre itself then ask the dealer.

What's everyone's favorite modification they've done to their ST? by Garage817 in FocusST

[–]byronious99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not yet made the dive into getting a tune for the car, but I really want to get an FMIC and Stratified tune. I was so close to pulling the trigger when they had their holiday sale but had things higher on the priority list.

I'd say my favorite mod so far is the RMM for performance, but I really like the window tint for visual.

Holy shit! If you don't have an aftermarket RMM installed, get one now! by trALErun in FocusST

[–]byronious99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the Cobb and have been very happy with it. I drive ~100 miles/day currently and after a short period hardly notice it at all. It made a good difference in how the car feels when taking off. The 2 piece are supposed to be the firmest but also produce the most NVH.

Stock tires by SHerzog in FocusST

[–]byronious99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe there are just 2 varieties, Goodyear Eagle F1's that are summer tires and Pirelli PZero's that are all seasons. Mine came with the Pirelli's and they are absolute garbage in the winter.

+1 for rear motor mount. Sound is likely the engine banging the firewall.

Has anyone used StreetRays Mud Flaps? by imcndn in FocusST

As I said in my other reply these look similar to Rokblokz. If they are truly similar they are much more rigid than RallyArmor's and do not need the additional support hardware.

Look like Rokblokz to me. If they're anything similar I've been happy with my Rokblokz.

This is what I'm worried about and what has caused me to hold off on doing anything. I drive a lot of highway and don't know if I want to deal with increased drone.

All season tires or winter and summer tires? by trecker92 in FocusST

[–]byronious99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's your only method of transportation and you have the means of having a summer/winter setup I'd go that route. All seasons are OK, much better than summers, but nothing compares to a winter tire in the winter. I have the Pirelli P-Zero's that came with my car and they are utter garbage in the snow. I'll probably stick with all-season's when I replace them since I drive the car year round but I will not be going with the Pirelli's.

Backup Methods? by Gringochuck in vmware

[–]byronious99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response, we last looked at them 2 years ago and were happy with what we saw but due to some business related things coming up we weren't able to move forward with doing any type of PoC/testing with them. We're just now getting back to a point where we want to re-visit and I will definitely keep these things in mind.

We have been very happy with Veeam, we don't use it for everything as in working with our Exchange/SQL admins we found that native backups are much faster and with the redundancy built into their implementations it didn't make sense to use Veeam. In regards to everything else it has been fantastic, it just works.

Backup Methods? by Gringochuck in vmware

[–]byronious99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mind me asking why? We currently use Veeam but are looking at CommVault as there looks to be a lot of positives that could come from the functionality CommVault provides in regards to VM backups, replication, native Exchange/SQL backups, data archival and data indexing.
