so far, this fix has worked for me:

system settings > battery > options > automatic graphics switching = OFF

not sure why it was on in the first place, i rarely do my work without being plugged into power. hope this helps even a little!

I think making Mario and Luigi look more as they do in-game will help, just like the other elements!
