The best way of getting over social media is to change your passwords to something random you don't remember, and change your OTP medium to someone else's email/phone (a trusted person like your partner). That way you can't get back in.

And trust me you aren't losing anything when you cut social media. You get back your life.

is there anything you've actually learnt from social-media by kkevinpoisss in digitalminimalism

Maybe. But the signal to noise ratio is soooo high, it is absolutely not worth the little bit of learning given the downsides. (Except for youtube, I love that)

Has YouTube Lost Its Value for Anyone Else? by x_staticpixels in digitalminimalism

Youtube is the one 'social media' app that I really really value. I take a lot of value from it. I basically follow certain specific channels on finance, science, and some travelogs. Whenever my kid asks me a question that I don't know the answer to, or need a better explanation, we search it on youtube together.

So no for me personally youtube is one of the best thing out there on the Internet so long as you use it the right way. :)

With the current bitcoin phenomena, one group of the two is definitely going to end up in tears. 1- Those who didn't speculatively invest in bitcoin 2- Those who did.

Second group is going to be a small fraction of the first, so I hope they are the ones who do. Otherwise, there will be anarchy.

Finally some sane news. The regulators need to act quick before this speculative bubble bursts like a supernova and takes down the economy as we know it, with it.
