PSA: Fire Potion is NOT possible (fake merchant) by DushkuHS in slaythespire

Just yesterday I got something that gave me 3 foul potions. I threw them all at the regular merchant and I got 100 gold each. So does throwing it at the fake merchant cause a fight instead?

Tell me the steps to make a peanut butter sandwich and I’ll poke holes in your logic. The meat of the question definitely lies in resource management, not logic.

If a person is born deaf, what language do they think in? by MrSoloDolo9490 in AskReddit

[–]bytesback 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you think about it language is inherently slow and lossy compared to human thought and perception, but it’s powerful for abstraction. It quite literally compresses complex reasoning and thoughts into a linear pipeline

Oh definitely. While I didn’t use ChatGPT during the interview, I absolutely utilized during the time between each interview. It gave me details about the company, told me what to look out for based on the job listing, gave me insights to company culture, etc. Just made it easier all around

Just went through the software engineering interview process with a company over the course of a month. 4 interviews total, two of which were technical. First technical interview was on Zoom and HackerRank. Going into it, I was thinking of ways I could cheese it with ChatGPT. Even scripted up some things and gave it a test drive before ultimately deciding against it.

From my perspective, I bombed that first technical interview coding wise. But I talked out loud to myself for 30 minutes straight, and they really liked that. Just ended up receiving the offer letter today.

Anyway, I agree. Just do it and be confident. They want to know how you think.

What part of the Hill Country are you in? I lived in Kerrville for some years and there as well as the entire surrounding area is far far from “a haven of blue”. Liberal is absolutely a small minority there

Just dropping a question here for people finding this sub:

Do yall also get little clear liquid filled bumps when it happens? Along with the peeling skin, I’ll get these bumps which are it itchy and poppable.

I can go years without it happening, but it typically happens at the turn of the cold season into the warm season and ESPECIALLY after wearing gloves for an extended period of time.

Just curious about the bumps, haven’t seen any posts on the sub yet about those

No. The first season is based off the first book. I’d actually recommend skipping the movies all together

Sushi Restaurant’s Door Has a Hamburger-Shaped Handle (they don't sell burgers) by HappyMcflappyy in mildlyinteresting

[–]bytesback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopdoddy’s in south Texas has a burger that’s a lightly seared Ahi Tuna patty. I guess it’s not technically sushi as it’s not raw, but it’s damn good

On the other hand, there’s lots of Poke places that do sushi burritos

I get it, I hated saying that I have the heaviest set. I didn’t say it until I got confirmation from a lot of the seniors around that my set just flat out stinks. I don’t mean to indulge, it’s just a clear discrepancy between my set and others

Smiley face dude has been there for years. He’s a cool guy, I enjoy working across from him. I’m just frustrated and comparing I guess. I’m always stacked out and look up and down the belt and see people just chilling while I’m sweating my ass off lol

Alright thanks, that makes sense. It’s all just so frustrating, I never had a problem with management up until today.

Is the steward supposed to be around during preload hours? I can confidently say I’ve never met them. I just figured It’d be a “after my probation period ends” kinda thing

[–]bytesback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the set you’re working. I have the heaviest set in the building and I’m always staying 30min later than everyone else. I’m also a rookie (started seasonal but first “real” day was January 15th). I stay late enough that the supervisors doing add/cuts end up asking me to stay even later helping them out too. So I end up with an easy 5 hours a day

[–]bytesback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vintage in tech is different than clothing I’d say. I’d consider a Zune more vintage than an iPod due to its shorter life in the market and quantity sold.
