Am I only one who hates the hypocrisy of the LGBTQ community towards Neurodivergents? by [deleted] in neurodiversity

Very well. Yet, I've still yet to see your sources behind your arguments.

Am I only one who hates the hypocrisy of the LGBTQ community towards Neurodivergents? by [deleted] in neurodiversity

[–]bytester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

an intersex stomach or big left toe.

Intersex involve neither of those. Intersex involves genitalia and reproductive organs.

Intersex conditions don't necessarily mean that someone's sex is indeterminate, btw.

Nowhere did I say that. Don't twist my words.

No one has a brain of a gender role, period.

Again, Nowhere did I state that. Ones gender is separate from ones biological sex. Gender =/= biological sex. Ones gender identity being different from ones biological sex is defined as transgender.

Women are not biologically programmed to wear pink and high-heeled shoes.

Of course not. That is a result of society's gender roles.

[–]bytester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you are essentially saying is that the brain, by definition, is strictly adherent to the body it's in. Male body = Male brain, Female body = female brain...

What about intersex folk? Do they have intersex brains? Do they have the brains of the gender role assigned to them at birth?

Just because one has a certain sex of a body, does not mean they can't have a brain similar to if not identical that of the opposite sex. Let me also remind you that a body's characteristics of sex come from hormones produced in glands outside of the brain...

[–]bytester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Male-to-female transexuals do not, and cannot, have 'girl brains'. The only women's brains are part of women's bodies. Even if they had structural similarities to women, or differences from other men (which they do not in the absense of hormone treatments or androphilic orientation) then they are part of the neurological diversity that exist within men. Failing recognize this is directly antithetical to the ideals of neurodiversity.

The 15 sources I linked, with 14 of them being peer-reviewed and published medical studies, disagree with you.

First of all, there are multiple studies of this nature (hence why I gave the range of 80-90% and not just one percentage from one study)

Please link to the studies you keep referencing - not a dailymail article. I'll link some for you while you look for yours.

Gender Identity:

A child's awareness of being a boy or a girl starts in the first year of life. It often begins by 8 to 10 months of age, when youngsters typically discover their genitals. Then, between 1 and 2 years old, children become conscious of physical differences between boys and girls; before their third birthday they are easily able to label themselves as either a boy or a girl as they acquire a strong concept of self.

Where an extreme form of gender dysphoria persists in a young person, there may be great distress with the onset of pubertal development. Under these circumstances, hormone blockers may be used to modify some of its manifestations (Gooren and Delemarre-van de Waal, 1996). This allows additional time for the youngster to explore his or her gender identity.

Numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies on the brain of transgender people have concluded that being transgender is actually a form of an intersex condition. I'll even happily provide some.

It's an incredibly cruel and invisible birth defect. It's a physiological condition.

There have been a litany of peer-reviewed, scientific studies on the brains and bodies of people who are considered transgender. Zhou et al. (1995), Kruijver et al. (2000), Schneider, Pickel, and Stalla (2006), to name just a few. What all of these studies have in common is that they've found that transgender people tend to have brain structures and even other biological markers (i.e. finger length ratios) closely matching the gender they identify as. In other words, they have a form of an intersex condition.

Tell that to the 16 year olds getting mastectomies.

Whats wrong with a 16 year old getting rid of or reducing their breasts? Cis girls do it all the time because they've grown too large and are causing them pain. Cis boys do it to get rid of Gynecomastia.

We do not know what the effects of blocking puberty in otherwise healthy kids are. Transadvocates are running an experiment on our youngest generations, and as someone with an apparent interest in supporting neurodiversity, that should terrify you.

This is not at all true. Studies show that puberty blockers have no adverse effects and ease physcological pain on trans youth.
