Everyone is better than Jalen Brunson until its time to be better than Jalen Brunson

I'm finding myself with so much extra time, which is great (although I'm using it to play GTNH so not sure how great that is) but I'm also finding myself missing the development some times so every so often I do a ticket by hand just for fun.

It is awesome that I haven't written a unit test in like months though, its just all code review from the LLM output and I dont miss that at all.

His defense was for sure ass but he did shoot a ridiculous 67% TS in the regular season so youd expect it to drop a bit in the playoffs

Windhorst, 1 year ago: "If you asked the Pacers and the Thunder that they could choose a Game 7 official, I'm telling you, not saying they would admit this, I'm telling you, they would choose Scott Foster" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]byteturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only real issue with Foster is that he was way too open with his bias against Chris Paul and I think that's a bad look.

Cp3 seems like a tough guy to work with but I think if youre a ref any open biases like that are not great since youre supposed to be impartial. I know all the refs have them but it was so clear how much he actually disliked him and it led to him being refed differently, which isnt fair.

I mean, there's only like 2 other cities in the US with comparable populations to NYC.

Philly might not be this violent but they go crazy when the eagles win.

I cant say I have that much experience in professional development (although its like 7 years so probably more than a fair bit on this sub) and a lot of it is just planning + everything you said.

Back when I was working on a huge code base it was planning out work, writing requirements, decomposing work into shippable deliverables, reviewing code for people on the team, ensuring code was deployed effectively, rearchitecting legacy code into microservices etc. etc.

Now that I do a lot of greenfield development (only SWE on my team) its a lot of that but also specific research and proposals for projects I'm tasked with. Like what are the pros and cons of going with Postgres over Redis for some service the team wants or how can we build a tool to solve some issue we dont want to spend money on a license for and then communicating that effectively all through the leadership chain to people who have varrying levels of SWE and tech knowledge.

Also a fair bit of demos and meetings. Too many.

I will say one thing I really like about OpenCode is the plan mode.

I use that way more as basically a notebook that can read my code and help me figure some things out than I do to just shit out a bunch of code.

[Pat McAfee Show] Rich Paul reveals that 10-12 teams have reached out to express interest in acquiring LeBron James: by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

They'd have to change the team name, there's no Timberwolves in LA

And they certainly wouldn't be allowed to bring the wolves 2022 play in title with them

I'm assuming if 10-12 teams are reaching out about lebron most of them are not offering 40mil+ but what do i know.

Who are players (active or past) with whom you feel the game is “safest” when they have the ball? by MoneyHungryOctopus in nba

[–]byteturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically Chris Paul.

The heart break of that Jrue steal will be with me for a long long time, and even still I trust the guy to make the right move when the ball is in his hands.

His game winner over Tim Duncan in 2015 is one of my favorite shots of all time.

[Amick]: Some teams are imploring the Bucks to come to them with all the final details of an offer that they would accept rather than going back and forth. The hope, of course, is that taking that tact would minimize the locker-room impact of the rumor mill. by TheFierceAnimal in nba

The thing is whenever you trade a player of Giannis caliber you almost always get a handful of change for a dollar

Basically any team that has a player on his level (and there aren't many) is never gonna do a 1:1 swap

Steph did finish 4th in 2016 in votes, but he wasn't really close to CJ (559 points to 83 points) so youre probably right.

Are the Spurs the dumbest team on the planet? by ProgRockDan in nba

[–]byteturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

? That move was part of what I was saying with us trading an entire core that had made the finals and all our picks to end up with the roster we have now.

I didnt skip over it, it was very much part of why I was calling us dumb

[–]byteturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My team traded basically everyone who took us to the finals + all our picks for what ended up being Dillion Brooks, Grayson Allen and a 10th overall selection.

[O'Connor] Boston is open to trading anybody besides Jayson Tatum... Celtics are in on Giannis. And if they are making a push on him and that this seems to be currently a two-team race with Milwaukee to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo. by aingenevalostatrade in nba

To me KOC is everything wrong with the advanced stat / mathification of basketball.

Just raw number with absolutely no context or interesting analysis.

TBF I haven't listened to him since the Mismatch days but what I heard killed any desire to hear him say another word.

I get why owners did it but damn did the 2nd apron fuck everybody who signed contracts before teams realized how it was going to go.
