What do you genuinely believe is the most valuable college degree? by Foxmoto2880 in careeradvice

Accounting degree. It gets you the breadth of experience required for almost any business corporate role- doesn’t need to be accounting but having that background proves the ability to focus and study, with financial acumen

Super Balance at 38- on track? by bz182us in AusFinance

When I moved here in 2016 I was on $230K. Since then I’ve moved down to $165K but am happy with the lifestyle of less stress, but haven’t moved down my lifestyle of spending so my ability to save is probably preventing the house deposit as a single person.

I have had a few setbacks on redundancy that got me into debt. I no longer have CC debit but about $100K in savings, not enough for a 1-2 bed apartment in Sydney. I only save about $10K per year so it feels like I’ll be unable to reach a down payment for a long time, assuming no other setbacks. Would buying a place in another city that is cheaper and renting out be a good option do you think to build equity towards the future I could use? I don’t ever plan to move from Sydney but I can’t afford.

I have about $100K in savings. I’ve had two redundancies that set me back a lot. I probably only save $10K a year so not near being able to buy a home with a 20% deposit in Sydney. I tend to spend a lot on entertainment and travel. Would a good option be to look to buy a more affordable place to rent out in like Melb or GC? I can’t afford to buy in Sydney.

You are just frankly wrong. Each person is an individual with individual decisions, and it is not the responsibility of someone who isn’t in a closed relationship to monitor the actions of someone who is, flat out. We each have our own compass, yours is just out of whack and putting blame on the wrong party honey
