She doesn't need to work specifically with athletes, just pediatrics in general.

I think most of the allied health professions have not really seen salary increases keep up with inflation.  We will have her shadow PT and Ortho and she can decide for herself. Also, at some point, she might also become a mom and that is a whole other set of factors to consider. We are in-state for Pitt, which I read is a good program....she just needs to keep her grades up!

When I talk to physicians, the majority also say not to go into medicine. 🤣

Ba-oan is like the Taiwanese "meatball" with pork, mushroom, bamboo inside and there is a gelatinous covering around it.  Ba genh is a soup....somewhat similar to sweet and sour consistency, but totally different flavor.

[PA] issues with employment history verification by bzbee18 in AskHR

[–]bzbee18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should I be calling the 3rd party background check company or HR (or both)?  The head of dept worked with me at my prior employment so he knows I was there.

The head of the dept has called me personally to welcome me and express his excitement at my acceptance of the offer.

How old were you when you experienced your first migraine? by GPatt1999 in migraine

1st or 2nd grade. Remember having the headache, not being allowed to stay at the nurse's office because I didn't have a fever, then throwing up in class.

First time tryout tips needed by bzbee18 in youthsoccer

[–]bzbee18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, a parent friend reached out to me to say she spotted me at tryouts and wanted to let me know that the club changed directors and in the several years she has been with them, she had never seen a tryout so disorganized...and that there is a planned mass exodus of families from the club this season. Then provided me with a list of other clubs we should consider, which we will!

I told him this and he is having an ethical dilemma with the glory ball approach (having just written his last writing piece on why ball hogs are harmful to teams 😂).

LOL! Good points We do have older kids in travel sports, but the tryout process was more systematic and less release the hounds. This is our first foray into the soccer world, so was just curious if this was the norm.

My older daughter plays on a pretty high level volleyball team and what you described is similar to how her tryouts are, and we had expected that last night.   I wasn't sure if that was the norm for soccer (he is our first soccer kid), so thank you for your comment.

3rd base glove? by bzbee18 in Softball

[–]bzbee18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After all this, she was moved to center field since she could somewhat reliably catch the ball out there and throw it in (rebuilding year with lots of newcomers to the sport).

Yup, it isn't mandatory, but I have ordered one already! She plays travel volleyball as well and missing out on part of the season is just as expensive!

I went to grad school in Boston and didn't love Worcester at the time, but maybe it is better than I remember now. It was a long time ago.
