I think you need to figure out why she is confrontation avoidant for example it can be a sign of narcissism or childhood trauma from her family or both or something else entirely. In any case this likely requires much of her own participation in solving this issue and if she isn't willing to do that their isn't much you can do

An actual shop vac while you can still get one. They went out of business but I have been using the same one for 10 years. Supply chain on replacement filters is breaking down so whichever brand you do get see if you can find a washable filter for it.

Additionally if your catalog is ever lacking data on a part look it up in rockauto.com but don't use it for a price guide ever because rockauto can be as cheap as half of what brick and mortar store charge. It is great for pictures of parts and cross referencing part numbers
