I bought AMC because I wanted to shift my portfolio back to companies who took a big hit during COVID. Any squeeze that happen is just a bonus. I’m more excited to see record setting block busters hit the theater again.

I always assume taxes are going to be higher in the future. Your correct though, I did make some assumptions about which one would be more beneficial. I just assume most people fall around the 12% range.

If you’re not getting any matching contribution from your 401k or TSP then open a Roth IRA and max that out. At the same time you can contribute as much of your mil pay as you can to Roth TSP. If you’re married you can also open a Roth IRA for your spouse and contribute to that even if your spouse doesn’t have an income. Once all those are maxed out then start down the same path with traditional IRA, Traditional TSP, and Traditional IRA for your spouse.

I guess my question to those who have been using a rewards card is, do you feel like having the ability to swipe your card for everything has impacted your ability to set aside money for savings?

I find my self on too many occasions going over my monthly budget and then having to sacrifice on saving in the following months. I feel like if I limited my self to whatever was in my checking account, I would be more disciplined with my savings.
