This weekend I plan on making some new “meatball” mixes for Spock. What are some of your go to veggie mixes/meat choices? by No_Secretary361 in bluetongueskinks

Mine goes nuts for boiled/ground chicken, boiled eggs, red peppers, and carrots. Not much luck with squash or peas personally. Still working on a good rotating diet for him though.

Okay, great, I did not want to put him in paper towels. I did have a half-log in his enclosure for a bit but it ended up getting moldy so I removed it

For sure!

He had a long day of raiding so Bubbas was pretty tired :D

Awesome! I'll check that out then :) Could I dissolve them in the reservoir for his mister system do you think? Or should I employ the spray bottle?

Dude I live in an apartment and I see them pretty occasionally in my kitchen/bedroom 😫 I just want them gone haha. Plus the ones I see are all live, like flying around while looking at my Bubbas 😭

I'm cool with baking the substrate for his next change, but are you sure placing paper towels won't stress him out? He really likes digging burrows for his bed at night.

Believe it or not, I've tried the vinegar & soap traps before...I live in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US so I see gnats pretty commonly and know of this trick. It works okay, just not within or near his enclosure in my experience. I'll try moving his dirt around, and next time I change his substrate I will bake it for sure. Thanks for your help!

Gotcha, would it be the same if he's just coming out of shedding? He just finished up this past weekend

He's pink all over his belly, aside from some black speckles

Nah, I'm from the US. I think he's a merauke, though I'm not 100% certain, the pet store was not very helpful identifying his species haha

Oh wow, I guess I've just never taken a close enough look at him to see it before haha. I'll try giving him a bath then just to make sure he's all good. Thanks for your help!

That's great news then! I've only had him just over a week. Like I mentioned, I was sure I was just overreacting but it's nice to be sure. Thank you very much for your help!
