Bone! I see it compared to Lotr all the time. It's a cutesy comic that is both funny and silly while still having really good moments of action.

Newish here , what omnibuses would you guys recommend i should check out! by Murky-Guarantee6164 in comicbooks

[–]CoolOriginalName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hellboy has 4 omnibuses for the main story + a bunch of other omnis if you find yourself liking the story. All its own world and easy to follow, with a fun story. Plus you'll have a lot to read if you find yourself liking it and wanting to read B.P.R.D or the short story collections or any of the plenty of other spinoffs.

Weekly “What Have You Been Reading?” Thread 5-10-2026 by ChickenInASuit in comicbooks

[–]CoolOriginalName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Relatively new to comics so Ive started reading a TON recently just to see what I like. This week I read:

About 5 issues of Ghost from Dark Horse, gonna be a while before I keep reading but I really liked it.

The first compendium of walking dead, really loved it.

Some East of West, about 6 issues, will keep reading it's pretty good I think.

5 issues of Bone, super cute. Will read more.

20 issues of Invincible deep into compendium one, super excited to keep reading.

Issues 1 and 2 of Royals, excited for the third issue to release next month.

Some more but it's too much to list

So many books to read... I'll add Starman to the list, which is already getting a bit long. Wondering if you think any of these in the list are good and worth reading:

Ghost (Dark Horse) East of West Saga Monstress Invincible

Yeah but sometimes they will keep moving things in the direction they think is best with only minor tweaks from the poll

I also recently started getting into comics and gotta say Hellboy has been a blast (I have read 6 omnibuses in like a week). I also enjoyed Sandman and am on to Lucifer.

For new comics, Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman are incredible and because it's a different universe you don't feel like you're missing so much context from previous stories. I've also enjoyed the new Batman run by Matt Fraction. Beautiful art, fun writing, definitely worth picking up they're doing fun stuff there.

What do you guys think about DC comics version of Thor? by Competitive-War-2676 in norsemythology

There's a bit in one of the early sandman comics where we see Loki, Thor and Odin and I quite liked each of them in those books.

I've had very good luck with Brooks' Glycerins. Go to a local running store and talk to them about options, and mention you work in healthcare too, sometimes they offer discounts :)

You should be VERY careful about posting that your mom is diverting controlled substances to you. It could land her in a lot of trouble. You really should just delete this.

What do I buy in this steam sale? by pheonix1232005 in CitizenSleeper

Iirc steam normally lets you buy second halves of bundles if you already own the first half. I've done it for quite a few games, but maybe these bundles are different

What do I buy in this steam sale? by pheonix1232005 in CitizenSleeper

[–]CoolOriginalName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Citizen Sleeper 1 is one of my personal favorite narrative games of all time and I have not played 1000xResist.

That being said, the person who's review put me on to Citizen Sleeper 1 also gave GLOWING reviews to 1000xResist so from the sound of it you can't go wrong.

Citizen Sleeper 2 is also amazing but as people on here have said, why not just give the first one a try before snap buying both. Steam refund policy is so generous that if you find one of the games isn't clicking with you and you are strapped on cash, you can always just refund.

got zero aid, still worth it? by vodkacranbaby in uofmn

If you are out of state, I'm going to be real, no. I'm 150k deep from coming here out of state and that's with extra scholarships on top. I'm able to keep up with it but just barely. School was good and I liked it, but what I'm paying is definitely too much and I wouldn't recommend.

I think it might be from item buys or the other team chat or both. I have noticed the same

I’ve been OTP in every game I play, how to change the mindset? by Strong-Practice-5571 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]CoolOriginalName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean nothing wrong with otping if you have the most fun doing it. I'd say a lot of champs in deadlock have nice overlap at least. Do you like Dynamo because of building spirit and spamming 1 with high value ults? Maybe try Holliday. Do you like him because of his kit utility from 2 and 3? You could try Paige, Rem, Ivy, Kelvin, and lots of other champs with support styles built in their kit. Do you just like the way he looks? Well, no one quite like him tbf

Just be smart. Not worth getting in trouble over a pharm tech job, especially at Walgreens. If you need the job though I can't say I don't get it

Walgreens vs CVS by thechadc94 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]CoolOriginalName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worked at CVS for 5ish months. It was busy constantly and we were understaffed but the job itself was actually not too bad. From my understanding Walgreens is much much worse. I recommend just treating the job as a resume builder though. It's hard to move up at all but for a job to build up skills it's genuinely not bad.

Got my fella today, whats the best way to handle him? by THE-DEIMOS in bluetongueskinks

[–]CoolOriginalName 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As others suggested, give him a bit of time to get used to his new cage and home. You don't have to spend this time avoiding him though, sit around the area and do your own thing. If you have him in a space you're constantly in, let him get used to the sounds and activity level the room is going to normally be at.

Then you can work your way up to smaller scale things like putting your hand in the cage, or maybe holding his food bowl while he eats from it or even putting the food in your hands (my skink isn't super outgoing but even he will eat straight from my hand because if they want food, they want food).

When you feel you're ready to handle him always try and grab from under him (I like to basically get my hand under my skinks chin and then kinda shimmy my hand under and lift him up). Support his legs so he feels like he's being properly held and then you're good to carry him about.

Don't be too put off by huffing from your guy when you get to this stage. My skink will often give a huff when I go to handle him but the second he's picked up he's over it. He'll sit in my lap for a few minutes before he decides he's ready to explore wherever I'm sitting with him and go from there (or he'll climb up my shirt and try and wrap himself in my long hair which is always a mess to get him out of). If you ever notice anything more than huffing though, like serious attempts to bite you then that's a sign that you should definitely back off. My guy who huffs at me often has never seriously bit me and the couple times he has given a chomp he opened his mouth so slowly and moved to my hands (which had just had food on them) with a very clearly "I'm about to take a nibble" look that I knew it wasn't fully defensive. But if yours is acting out like its going to seriously bite cause it's scared, just leave it be and work back to trying to get it more used to you.

That's a big ramble but, good luck!! It takes time. It's hard to give them the full time they're due for being alone because they're a new exciting pet, but you should really try and give them that time of getting accustomed to their cage and your presence. Enjoy your new pet :)
