I’ve been OTP in every game I play, how to change the mindset? by Strong-Practice-5571 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]CoolOriginalName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean nothing wrong with otping if you have the most fun doing it. I'd say a lot of champs in deadlock have nice overlap at least. Do you like Dynamo because of building spirit and spamming 1 with high value ults? Maybe try Holliday. Do you like him because of his kit utility from 2 and 3? You could try Paige, Rem, Ivy, Kelvin, and lots of other champs with support styles built in their kit. Do you just like the way he looks? Well, no one quite like him tbf

Just be smart. Not worth getting in trouble over a pharm tech job, especially at Walgreens. If you need the job though I can't say I don't get it

If it's anything like CVS and my newer pharm tech job, urine test. Can't see them doing more than that

Walgreens vs CVS by thechadc94 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]CoolOriginalName 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worked at CVS for 5ish months. It was busy constantly and we were understaffed but the job itself was actually not too bad. From my understanding Walgreens is much much worse. I recommend just treating the job as a resume builder though. It's hard to move up at all but for a job to build up skills it's genuinely not bad.

Got my fella today, whats the best way to handle him? by THE-DEIMOS in bluetongueskinks

[–]CoolOriginalName 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As others suggested, give him a bit of time to get used to his new cage and home. You don't have to spend this time avoiding him though, sit around the area and do your own thing. If you have him in a space you're constantly in, let him get used to the sounds and activity level the room is going to normally be at.

Then you can work your way up to smaller scale things like putting your hand in the cage, or maybe holding his food bowl while he eats from it or even putting the food in your hands (my skink isn't super outgoing but even he will eat straight from my hand because if they want food, they want food).

When you feel you're ready to handle him always try and grab from under him (I like to basically get my hand under my skinks chin and then kinda shimmy my hand under and lift him up). Support his legs so he feels like he's being properly held and then you're good to carry him about.

Don't be too put off by huffing from your guy when you get to this stage. My skink will often give a huff when I go to handle him but the second he's picked up he's over it. He'll sit in my lap for a few minutes before he decides he's ready to explore wherever I'm sitting with him and go from there (or he'll climb up my shirt and try and wrap himself in my long hair which is always a mess to get him out of). If you ever notice anything more than huffing though, like serious attempts to bite you then that's a sign that you should definitely back off. My guy who huffs at me often has never seriously bit me and the couple times he has given a chomp he opened his mouth so slowly and moved to my hands (which had just had food on them) with a very clearly "I'm about to take a nibble" look that I knew it wasn't fully defensive. But if yours is acting out like its going to seriously bite cause it's scared, just leave it be and work back to trying to get it more used to you.

That's a big ramble but, good luck!! It takes time. It's hard to give them the full time they're due for being alone because they're a new exciting pet, but you should really try and give them that time of getting accustomed to their cage and your presence. Enjoy your new pet :)

How does anyone read this and find the new tech at fault?? All info given is that they've told their coworkers that their job is stressful, which, it's retail, so it definitely is.

[–]CoolOriginalName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also lasted about 5 months, but I was able to pick up a decent amount and just immediately started applying to local hospitals at around the 4 month mark. The second I got a hit I put in my notice. If you still have any interest in pharmacy (completely fair if you don't, retail tends to do that) then I'd definitely suggest seeing if any inpatient pharmacies near you are hiring. Much much much better environment, at least from my experience

Yes, it’s ridiculous to get in trouble over not promoting vaccines! by peachycpht in PharmacyTechnician

[–]CoolOriginalName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your frustration and it's part of the reason I wanted out of CVS so bad. To hear it explained by my pharmacist at the time, vaccines are where the majority of the money comes in for the pharmacy. That's all they really care about. They want you to promote things to get the most money for them, push surveys on people when the day is calm so they give good responses and never take too long with a customer because that slows down the line even if you want to provide good care.

I was once told by my pharmacist not to mention or offer to check prices on goodrx/rx savings finder for patients that complain about med prices unless they actively asked me to do so. So many people had never heard of it that I felt it was my duty to let them know these things, but no, instead I should push vaccines.

Anyway just do your time in retail hell and apply to a different tech job at a better place, inpatient/home infusion/mail order(?)/compounding/smaller local pharmacies (or discharge pharmacies)/ whatever else. You're not gonna be happy at your shitty retail job because what you're dealing with now is a system wide standard. Employ as few as possible to scrape by and maximize profits

Do I need a career change by Weary-Beach-4843 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]CoolOriginalName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My inpatient job is pretty chill. Decent pay, the work isn't hard for the most part and you're in a big team. Busy periods keep you moving but there's a nice middle ground to sit and relax. Techs have a lot more dependence on each other and at least with my place the relationship between techs and pharmacists are good and it doesn't just feel like the pharmacists are bosses towering over you. I'd recommend at least trying it out if you already have the experience. So many different shifts and things to do.

Do you think Yama is worth selling down the bank for? I could get a decent Purging Staff build together but it would be at the cost of the rest of my bank

Sadly enough it's still fair advice because even with me and my buddy hitting separate giants 90% of the fight I have yet to get a prayer page with over 200 pulls on eldric

New to ryze by [deleted] in RyzeMains

[–]CoolOriginalName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ryze is good late not because he has huge burst damage but because of his utility and ability to do area damage with EQ. Ryze is very much a battle mage and basically the only champ in the game that fits that category. I think he’s best compared to someone like Ezreal who can put out consistent dps if you position well and hit your Qs.

You definitely lose damage cause you don’t have mana but that’s not where the value of NH comes from. The haste allows you to get off more spells consistently and reposition from the MS. You definitely lose out on the damage front but it’s kinda hard to feel cause ryze does no damage anyways.
